A mistake12 Dec 2005 23:04 GMT6
I had to change machines and it turned out to be a mess.
About there but the Spell checker post was supposed to be
deleted.  But old fumble fingers messed up.
May gave a few more incidents.

Eating out advice needed12 Dec 2005 15:55 GMT70
A group of my friends want to go to a movie on Saturday - we do this
often, but usually we eat at a restaurant where I can order something I
can eat.  However, because it is a big shopping day and some of them
hate waiting for a table, it has been suggested that we go to someone's
Tight Diabetes Control12 Dec 2005 15:39 GMT24
An ADA article on Tight Diabetes Control. Some will disagree with the parts
of the article. One point that is brought up is that tight control might not
be the best for everyone.

Keto Care test strips from CVS12 Dec 2005 14:56 GMT11
I just picked up some Keto Care test strips from CVS to check my ketone
numbers. 50 strips for $9.99. Does anyone here have any experience with
them? They do not give you a exact number instead they give you a
range.

Totally off topic: A black bear pases through my street heading west.12 Dec 2005 14:04 GMT12
Two nights ago when I got home, there were two Fish and Wildlife trucks
parked across the street, one house down from my home. The forest
ranger told me there was a blackbear in the neighbor's back yard. (The
local paper later wrote that it was 300 pounds.)
Not chewing food thoroughly as a way to control blood glucose12 Dec 2005 13:48 GMT9
I was thinking of control idea that would allow diabetics to eat more
than the usual minuscule food portions yet not elevate blood glucose
levels.  However, I'm not sure if it would work or not.
The way is to not chew your food thoroughly.  My reasoning is this: --
A puzzling experiment12 Dec 2005 12:56 GMT13
G'day G'day Folks,
I came across this study where a diet containing almonds was compared
against a cholesterol lowering diet.  That makes it interesting. Too
often researchers compare their brain child against something like SAD
doctor prescribe aspirin for mom...12 Dec 2005 12:12 GMT12
My mom was put on aspirin 100mg 2 days ago(1 tablet daily in the
morning) for primary prevention of heart disease, bacause she did not
want to go for a nuclear cardiology testing, worrying about the side
effect or 'torture' she might experience there.
Smelling your food12 Dec 2005 12:04 GMT9
I read this in Reader's Digest today while waiting in the doctor's office.
It's something that costs nothing, and may help some people to lose weight.
The sense of smell is closely tied in with the sense of taste. Research has
shown that people who started to smell their food ...
High BG reading for non-diabetic12 Dec 2005 11:51 GMT31
I'm T2 and test myself regularly.  Every so often, I test family (all
non-diabetic) and a few months ago was alarmed when my husband's BG
registered as 18 mmol.  I continued to test him randomly over the next week
or so and every reading was below 7 mmol so I put the high reading ...
Weird BG spike12 Dec 2005 08:28 GMT7
OK what could be up here?  I have eaten my last bowl of shredded wheat even
though it was OKd by the doc so long as I didn't spike on it.  From now on
I'll eat something else in the AM.  I am very carb intolerant until I have
been up and about for about 4 hours.  After that I seem ...
