G'day G'day Folks,
Most people are aware there are benefits in eating a variety of
vegetables daily.
The question is "Which ones should be our staples?"
Bicycling does number on my BG numbers.17 Oct 2005 17:34 GMT1
Dear ASD fans:
I've been getting a bit more serious about bicycling in the past two
or three months, and the results are getting to be ridiculous.
As in, have about 38 grams of Carbohydrate in my breakfast, ride

All,
I am 24 years old, diagnosed as type 1 diabetic aged 7. My doctor is
presently suggesting putting me on a statin, to reduce future cardiac
risk. However, whilst searching around I have been unable to find any

Had my A1C done today and got a 5.3.
This is really weird.  I was trying pretty hard last time and got a
6.0.   After that, I kind of lost it for 3 months, until 2 weeks ago.
Now a 5.3!   It makes no sense.
Paint fumes and BG levels? 17 Oct 2005 14:55 GMT5
I've noticed an odd thing: On days I paint (I'm painting my house) my
BG control is not good. My Bg levels creep up throughout the day,
often adding 20 points to my normal pre-meal levels. Also, I seem to
be more carb sensitive at those meals, and even a very low-carb one
Exercise17 Oct 2005 11:31 GMT13
The new, slimmer, BG controlled me is trying to exercise a bit more.  I have
read that brisk walking is good for you but have to confess that if I try to
walk briskly - I run out of puff very quickly and every muscle aches.  So,
my question is whether it is better to walk a short ...
Diabetes Blog:   An Endo newly diagnosed with diabetes17 Oct 2005 01:46 GMT1
http://www.diabetes.blog.com/
Dr. Bill Quick was Children With Diabetes's Medical Director for several
years, and was self-diagnosed last week with LADA.  His blog on this link is
very interesting. His wife is a CDE; he's an endo. Again, very personal and

Vinegar as fungus remedy16 Oct 2005 03:59 GMT29
The leader of my diabetes support group said she cured her toe fungus by
soaking her feet in full strength white vinegar two times for 30 minutes
each time. She said it works well on other types of fungus.  She was
quite thrilled with this newly found, inexpensive  remedy. ...
LADA - Signs of the apocalypse?16 Oct 2005 00:12 GMT36
Hi folks, it would be nice if there's anyone out there who could share
their experience with me.
It's been a few months since I was diagnosed.  I've been told that I may
well be LADA.  So far, I've been doing quite well on 3mg Amaryl
Constantly felt ill since diagnosed 11 years ago15 Oct 2005 23:26 GMT26
Has anyone else had any side effects to human insulin? Since I was
diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 11 years ago, I have been constantly
ill.
I am lethargic all the time, I feel nauseated most of the time, and

Diagnosed T2 this August. Metformin and diet controlled. Lurking in the
corridors of your forum has helped tremendously both mentally and
physically. Just wanted to pop my head round the door, introduce myself and
say a big Thank you
Dont go to jail in Nottingham Town15 Oct 2005 20:41 GMT2
Heard an article on the local East Midlands BBC news about a coroner
slating the staff at Nottingham prison because they allowed a young
diabetic to go into a diabetic coma and die.  He hadn't seen a doctor
within the precribed time period.  The deceased's family can't sue the
Metformin gas cure?? Or help15 Oct 2005 18:17 GMT12
Metformin and high fiber diet causes a lot of gas, has anybody got a
home remedy suitable for a T2 diabetic. I haven't tried beano because
of its expense and I don't want it to affect my BG. So I thought I
should ask here first. When it gets real bad I have had to take
