Just to say hello, I'm the new guy21 Oct 2005 23:26 GMT13
Hello everyone;
I'm Mark Holderfield, I've been type 1 for near 20 years.  I'm using an
animas pump, which I love, though it's getting a little beat up and I'm
thinking about asking medicare for a new one, maybe a paradigm.
Gage21 Oct 2005 22:05 GMT4
Last fall I started with 28 gage syringe needles.  I could only stick
myself 4 times before they became too dull to use.  Also left bruises
at times.  Then someone gave me a bag of 30 gage syringes.  They were
better, but also became dull after 4 uses.  Last weekend I bought a

Their web site seems to be up and running.  Their formulary finder is a big
help.  You enter the meds you take and it will give a listing of the plans
that cover them.  Not all plans cover all meds and most plans have several
levels.
post-prandial numbers question21 Oct 2005 20:27 GMT10
Can any of you experts help me out?  What should post-prandial readings
be for a pregnant, non-diabetic, non-gestational diabetic?
I passed my glucose screening, but lately have been feeling funny after
eating.  My mom is Type 2, so I decided to go get a meter.  Last night
Insurance Plans Changin' Next Year21 Oct 2005 20:17 GMT10
Has anyone else received the details for their employer's health plan
enrollments?
My employer's new plan started out saying, basically, "We've managed to
keep our prices from rising with the national average!  No significant

It's interesting to see that I burn just as much glucose doing cardio
for 30 minutes as doing weight lifting for 30 minutes. I knew I was
burning glucose on the treadmill & cross trainer, but I wasn't sure if
doing the weights had the same effect.
Yep, she's definitely my daughter21 Oct 2005 19:04 GMT24
My lovely 4-year-old has been having a bit of a bedwetting problem for a
week, and a home glucose test done at my insistence shows a blood glucose of
192 mg/dL.

muscle pains and medication21 Oct 2005 12:31 GMT1
I am a type 2 diabetic and have been taking Metformin and Glicazide for some
years. I also take 5mg of Lisinopril per day.
For about a year I have some pain in all the major muscles and it is getting
worse, I wonder if anybody has experienced anything similar which may be a
Anodyne21 Oct 2005 09:59 GMT1
An advertisement caught my attention in the west side of Cleveland.  The
Lutheran Home, a prominent nursing facility in a western suburb,
advertised a therapy called anodyne.  If it weren't for the source of
the ad, I would greet it with a great deal of skepticism.  Anyway, ...

My name is Michael.  I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 1998.  It
has only been in the last few years that I have somewhat come to terms
with it.  I take Novolog, Metformin, and Amaryl.  But my blood sugar
usually is around 250-400.  My DR just keeps raising the amount of
