the morning before eating anything and getting consistent 85-90
numbers with my new meter.

the conclusions reached are so silly.  It is tempting to think that
the writer of the articles was being paid to write the articles in
OT? People who reach 100.........31 Oct 2005 22:44 GMT3
A local news broadcast reported on 3 groups of people who had the
highest population of people aged 100 or better in the world.
Sadly I can't remember two of the 3 populations studied but the third

Monitors and test strips31 Oct 2005 21:33 GMT14
I have learned a lot from the folks in this group, so I am hoping for
some guidance on the question of meters. My health plan now partially
covers test strip and meter costs. I am using a Prestiege monitor from
CVS. Is this a good monitor? I am going to get new test strips ...
Health Care Options31 Oct 2005 18:58 GMT2

Very-low-calorie diet therapy (or periodical fasting) and diabetes31 Oct 2005 17:22 GMT1
Why diabetics forgot to try "periodical fasting" as natural remedy
to deal with diabetes? There are a lot of scientific studies like one
abstract that I posted below that prove my statement:

insulin resistance significantly decreased after diet, and a further

New way to treat type-1 diabetics ??31 Oct 2005 16:32 GMT3
I was listening to the radio and they teased a story about a new way
to treat type-1 diabetics where they won't have to inject insulin any
more.
Then I MISSED the dang story!
Oxidative stress-induced insulin resistance31 Oct 2005 16:25 GMT11

this association is not restricted to insulin resistance in type 2
diabetes, but is also evident in obese, nondiabetic individuals, and in
those patients with the metabolic syndrome
Does the Sugars line on nutrition label tell you anything useful?31 Oct 2005 16:13 GMT13
At first I thought it might be a "fast" indicator, but then I saw
that potatoes have almost no sugars.  Blueberries, however, seem to
be almost all sugars.
So why is that line there, and what useful information does it
