Just bought a bottle of Sacchrin, 500 tablets, 1/4 grain size from
price chopper for $1.95.  Gonna try to use it in place of sugar for
coffee.  Anybody use it?  Is that cancer scare still alive and

Could this be a normal reading?30 Aug 2005 16:15 GMT4
Someone I know tested on a glucometer and the results were 159 mg/dL.

He'd been fasting for about eight hours, BUT he'd absent mindedly
taken a piece of chocolate that was offered him maybe one or two hours

More on that Isophane stuff30 Aug 2005 14:17 GMT39
Well i stuck 18u in last night, FBG was 5.6. I'm going to pop another 2u
in tonight and i should be back to around the 4.0 i'm used to. Not sure
what i'll do about the daytime readings yet, i'm inclined to just stick
the other 4 to 6 units in at 6.30am and let them float around ...
*&*%* Meter30 Aug 2005 13:53 GMT4
Damn I hate this Accu-Chek meter..... but it's what the VA supports
(figures.... lowest bid purchasing). Two hours after lunch, first reading
145 (damn! shouldn't be), repeated within 30 sec, 103 (now that's better),
checked against my UltraSmart, 95 (thought so).

Sorry I didn't keep the newspaper I read this in, BUT, did anyone else
hear about a study that showed coffee (of all things) having some

curative - well, not curative exactly)??
Not a thread about hypos30 Aug 2005 09:15 GMT11
There's a lot of talk about false and real hypos and I have been

I used to be hyperglycemic pretty much 24/7 before diagnosis and since
then I have noticed that my threshold for hyperglycemia is lowering.

On my walks...30 Aug 2005 07:18 GMT39
I walk about 35 to 40 miles a week. Here's what I see:
1. There are too many barking, pooping and urinating dogs. I don't
remember this many dogs when I was growing up. There were more kids
then. Now we have fewer kids and more dogs. And many of these dogs are
