How to improve levels of good cholesterol ?09 Aug 2005 12:52 GMT6
Just got back from my six monthly checkup and was advised that my good
cholesterol levels are slightly low (0.9).
Any tips on how to raise the level.
Diabetic nurse suggested that I eat oily fish 2-3 times per week.

hi - is anybody on the Novopen insulins (Actrapid/Ultratard) and due to
change (or have already changed) when they withdraw certain insulins from
October? I believe the Actrapid is still going to be available in a 10ml
vial, but not the ultratard... came as a bit of a shock!
Cactus and blood glucose levels09 Aug 2005 09:59 GMT1
I've got a diabetic neighbor who informs me that her blood glucose
levels have dropped significantly after eating cacus in salads and stir
frys. Cactus is popular in the Southwest and sold in most supermarkets
in the produce section --- thorns removed, of course.

Well, my friend is relieved.  They only had to remove the big toe.
Sweetheart said this whole thing probably scared him enough to start taking
care of himself....

developed the diabetes after that.
In l994, I had breast cancer.  I went through twelve rounds of chemo

About Jude09 Aug 2005 02:25 GMT57
I found part of his obituary this morning after reading the group. He died
November 18th , 2002.
I don't know how to pay for things on the net and there was a minimal charge
for the entire obituary but at least it confirmed my fear of it being true
A nice restaurant experience09 Aug 2005 01:26 GMT7
I went to a Taiwanese restaurant today that I go to occasionally. Today
my spouse told the owner that I'd like the noodle soup with pork &
picked radish with out the noodles. She told the owner that I'm diabetic
and that's why I did not want the noodles.

This is my story. I hope that sharing it will prevent anyone who is not
treating diabetes, or is not aware they have it will get professional help.
I am a 35 year old white male. I had never been at a hospital for more than
stitches. I hadn't had a physical or a checkup for over ...
Hypo sans spike?08 Aug 2005 23:07 GMT4

I tested every 30-60 minutes for a good couple of hours after I had
lunch today--the numbers went like this:

Last tuesday, 2 hours after taking Altace my Tinnitus soared.  Changed my prescripton to
Atacand, Thursday started on half the minimum dose, no problem, Tinnitus fine.  This
morning I decided to take the minimu dose, 15 hours later my Tinnitus soared.
Coincidence?
