found a great frozen treat- doesn't raise my BG15 Aug 2005 21:52 GMT1
I'm not affiliated with this company at all, but I'm always on the
lookout for a snack- Especially when it's frozen and when it's been 100
degrees in NJ! I found the best bars in my local store that don't raise
my blood glucose at all and have no fat, etc. I'm watching my
yogurt, and the answer is?15 Aug 2005 20:41 GMT2
I read parts of the "yogurt" thread.  Is there any definitive answer about
the difference in before and after fermentation to make yogurt that is
reflected on the label? I think food producers go to great lengths to
ensure uniformity in batches and one way is to test the end product ...
Naughty naughty15 Aug 2005 19:50 GMT10
I confess, I ate a brownie today.  It was wonderful, until I started
spiking from it.  The recipe made 8@2" brownies and included a cup of
sugar but only 1/4c of flour.  I guess the time has come to fork out
for "Splenda for Baking" *sigh*

First Post-Diagnosis Blood-work approaching my 3-month mark15 Aug 2005 17:12 GMT22
By the time I finish writing this post, it will be 3 months since I was
diagnosed with Diabetes.  I don't remember exactly what my labs looked
like back then, but I do remember:
BG tested 309 at 5:30, 2 1/2 hours after eating 2 "Grandmas Cookies."
Fame at last : )15 Aug 2005 16:51 GMT15
I've just had Diabetes UK on the phone, asking if I'll do an interview with
the Sunday Mirror : )  Scary.  Diabetes UK want me to be positive about
having diabetes and being able to control it. I wonder how often I can
mention testing? : )  Wish me luck!
The Ticking-Clock Hypothesis?15 Aug 2005 12:21 GMT41
I just read carefully one of the San Diego ADA papers presented in June
2005. A good paper (Natural History of the Metabolic Syndrome and Type
2 Diabetes: The Ticking Clock) but could be misinterpreted as the focus
was primarily the natural history of Metabolic Syndrome leading to ...
Any useful resources for me and my wife? (long-ish)15 Aug 2005 10:20 GMT10
I am T2, having been diagnosed around 4 years ago, and take metformin,
novonorm, simvastain and aspirin. My control is pretty good - on Sunday
I had a chicken salad with a bread roll and glass of wine, followed by a
(very naughty) blackcurrant summer pudding, and 2 hours later I ...

http://www.hypoguard.com/quicktek.html.
It costs $20 from http://www.carepluspartners.com/store/101012.htm
Somehing about diabetes 15 Aug 2005 08:47 GMT1

So why dont they get it yet15 Aug 2005 08:08 GMT26
I just realized that my family knows I am a diabetic, but doesnt know
exactly what that means
everyone knows I test alot.  My daughter and I were on a road trip for a
couple of days.  I usually test when it is about time for me to eat.  If

There are several types of oats available in super markets .
oat meal , quick cooking oats , old fashioned oats . I also
find some brand names as Quaker oats to be very expensive but the
quality is same . Is there any difference between quick cooking and old
Hyperinsulinemia May Increase Alzheimer's Disease Risk15 Aug 2005 07:19 GMT16
Moderately high insulin levels are associated with increased levels
of inflammatory markers and beta-amyloid in cerebrospinal fluid,
suggesting a causal link between hyperinsulinemia and Alzheimer's
disease, investigators report.
Sleep Sentry15 Aug 2005 01:14 GMT11
Anybody familiar with the Sleep Sentry? It's a wrist device that signals
a hypo when sleeping. Since I live alone, I'd like to have something to
wake me up before I get into trouble.
