I was recently changed to new insulins and was given two pens to inject
them with.
Last night I took my Novorapid immediately after my dinner when my sugar
level was 6.2. About 20 minutes later I began to feel odd so tested
temperature issues for some meters and test strips?19 Aug 2005 20:23 GMT5
It seems that some test strips may be more sensitive to temperature than
others.  I got this idea from Chris.  I figured if altitude can affect them
then just how bad they can be affected by heat and cold.  This is old
article.  Slapped together is 2003.  But I just wonder if ...
Mean 60 day glucose ?19 Aug 2005 18:52 GMT7
I have just noticed on my pathology results reference to "Mean 60 day
glucose" of 8.2 mmol/L. My HbA1c was 7%.
Does it 'Mean' what it says, the average glucose levels for sixty
days. That seems very high to me.
New to glucose spikes and crashes19 Aug 2005 15:54 GMT52
Hi.  I'm not actually diabetic, but have gotten so much great info from
reading this board, hope you don't mind me posting here.  I seem to be
hypoglycemic, or at least have glucose levels that spike too high after
eating and then crash too low.  Doc is "poo pooing" it, so I'm ...
alpa liopic acid19 Aug 2005 05:41 GMT7
I was just wondering if others have tried alpha Liopic acid and the results.
My Endo recomended adding 300mg twice a day. I am on Lantus, avandia and
metformim.  I did some research on it and found a ton of positive info on
the internet.  In two weeks I see some difference in my ...

But, since I get to celeberate, let me be verbose.

I feel better18 Aug 2005 23:28 GMT9
I went back to the endo today for the thyroid thing (she tells me
there's no relationship between thyroid function and metformin, btw).
Since I was there I asked her about adding basal insulin to my
treatment to get my fasting sugars down.  She asked for my FBG

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Today's exercise18 Aug 2005 21:15 GMT12
It's 7:30 am on the west coast; it's cool, sunny, beautiful. I'm taking
my bike to the beach and heading north!  Millions of people are heading
to work--which keeps them off the bike trail. Work is a good thing!
Retirement is better!
have to commit18 Aug 2005 20:47 GMT25
just have to...
I tried the 'no insulin' method...tried new meds, tried and tried, and
kept trying, but I was stupid, so stupid.  My blood sugars have been
running an average between 350 and 550, a deadly amount.
Weight Loss & Fasting BGL Levels18 Aug 2005 20:33 GMT1
I was diagnosed diabetic (5) years ago and was originally
put on glucatrol, then Metformin, then Avandia.
I am currently off all medication and maintain control by
diet and exercise. Approx (56) grams carbs daily and 20 min
I didn't panic, but I did get some great data! 18 Aug 2005 20:14 GMT17
I'm very absent-minded at the best of times, and occasionally I do
some really silly things. This morning I sure did just that.
I was on the phone to a client from my office (in my house). I was
very involved with the call, and was thirsty, so I grabbed a can of
Life Insurance18 Aug 2005 10:09 GMT4
I've just had a quote back for life insurance; price before diabetes
added - £18 a month, after diabetes £28 a month.  Anyone found a
better value insurer?
Thanks in advance

Reviewing what I have sen here this post is
indicated.   It is a bit OT
Insecure people seem to relish at being insulted
by jokes. They can use them to complain.
