Why am I gaining weight?09 Jun 2004 05:52 GMT6
Been on insulin for 10 weeks,  Novomix 30, (22 in morning 14 at night now),
and lost 2 pounds in total until last week.   Now I  am having a steady
increase, looks like 4 pounds this week, I weigh every Tuesday morning on
the same scales.  It started when I went to Chelsea flower ...
Study: Posting In This Newsgroup May Have Link To Diabetes09 Jun 2004 05:25 GMT21
I've made a small study...
And it appears that if you post in this newsgroup, there is a high
chance you have diabetes.
Someone call the media.
70/30 vs NPH09 Jun 2004 04:12 GMT2
I was hospitalized a few days ago and the hospital gave me NPH insulin rather
than the 70/30 I take at home. I didn't suffer any adverse effects but I am
curious as to the differences in the two types.

The low carb catsup taste-off09 Jun 2004 04:01 GMT2
Today Vons finally had Heinz 1-carb catsup on the shelf. I have been looking
for it for a long time.
I already had some "Carb Options" low-carb catsup, so I decided to have a
taste-off. Both my GF and I liked the Heinz much better. We thought the

Folks: if you MUST reply to the troll, can you clean up the subject?09 Jun 2004 01:19 GMT16
try substituting "blah blah blah".  The psycho will still
see your handiwork...sigh.  I've been guilty of forgetting
to clean them up each time too...but I'm not replying much
and I'm taking more time to remove the offensive words.
LoCarbs and exercise - Yuk! and they're not even 4 letter words09 Jun 2004 00:11 GMT20
About these carb thingies, does it count if no one is looking when you
eat them?
I am never going to get the hang of this.  :(

This item is of questionable value to diabetics and
does not justify the number of post on it.
Are "you" trying to justify it's use by "yourself".
Use it and let the rest of us alone.
Trolls everywhere08 Jun 2004 22:22 GMT2
Now I see why "yahoo groups" became so popular.  The newsgroup trolls attack
people who are sick and need support in this newsgroup and similar ones.
They only illustrate their shallowness of being and the contempt they have
for their own pitiful lives.  Such a wasted life they live ...
Does heat/humidity affect blood sugar?08 Jun 2004 22:18 GMT7
Dear People,
This is my first Spring/Summer as a diabetic. Today I noticed that my
numbers are running about 10-15 points higher than what I am use to.
I haven`t eaten anything different, I feel fine and it isn`t PMS
Diabetes Kills, PAINFULLY.   08 Jun 2004 22:01 GMT4
The life of a diabetic is filled with an inherent sense of horror!
Eventually, they will die from this terrible affliction and it will not
be painless.
Try to prevent yourself from getting this.
Diabetics all Die, Eventually   08 Jun 2004 20:58 GMT3
It is so sad, but a diabetic is inevitably doomed to a slow, painful
death. It is best to take precautions in life to prevent this. Stay
healthy. You have the power.

First Bad Pump Experience08 Jun 2004 20:18 GMT32
This past weekend, my wife and I went with some friends of ours to
Carowinds Amusement Park (about 3 hours) away from where live.
Anyway, we drive up on Friday, did some shopping at a nearby mall,
visited my old college, etc...  That night we decided to unwind by
