several DM related complications.
Obesity and Type 228 Jan 2004 21:40 GMT40
Can anyone give me a nutshell explanation of why type 2 diabetics are more
prone to weight issues?  I am type 1 and have little experience with type 2.
I'm in Nursing school and need some info on this subject.

A1c results and daily bg fluctuations28 Jan 2004 21:07 GMT11
In the recent a1c thread the topic once again came up as to the reality of
how closely the a1c long term average tracks the daily fluctuations.  For
example for the same a1c could two people have very different glucose
fluctuations because of post meal highs and/or because of below ...

I purchased a used Compaq desktop (Pent 2, 450 Mhz, 64 Mb ram) from a local
computer shop with a 10 G hd in it, but I screwed up. (It was less than the
upgrades to my old Pent 1 system)
I tried to convert it to Linux Redhat OS  and ended up with the whole drive

Anyone here ever get chronic cold sores?28 Jan 2004 12:07 GMT56
I can't seem to get them to clear up.  They go away and then a week later
they're back.  Threw out all the old chapsticks and lipsticks etc. and it
flared up again today.  That's three times in about a month!
BG has been testing fine so no problem there.
Zeaxanthin and Lutein28 Jan 2004 09:45 GMT5
Both these found in Springfield's Macuvite Capsules (?17.99 for 30 capsules)
from The Nutri Centre, 0800 587 2290 which contain a high enough dose of
both the above agents to provide the protection you need.  Take as directed
on the bottle.

Metaformin and VERY bad breath28 Jan 2004 05:45 GMT8
Since starting on Metaformin, I have extremely bad breath. Plants wither and
die. I could be hired out as a paint stripper! A *slight* exaggeration, but
you get the idea.
Any suggestions?

A question:
Anybody ever heard or seen evidence that diabetics are more susceptible
to carpal tunnel syndrome? A friend (who is diabetic AND
non-computer-literate) asked me...I didn't have any answers. Thanks in

Hello children - still arguing I see.  Meanwhile...
...I'm injecting 2 (sometimes 3)  units a day on my ultra-low (zeroish) carb
diet, rather than the 40-50 units a day when I eat carbs.  I'm feeling
great, doing fine.  I know this will upset you but I just have to share.  It
