After BD was kind enough to mention to me that
their faulty meter has not yet been recalled by
the FDA, I went looking for an easy means in
which to file my complaint. It seems there is an

Being diagnosed with diabetes probably will cause
anxiety and finally depression. The "my life
is over" thing.   It comes down in how you handle it.
Dwell on it and you are in trouble.

Any other techie geeks out there?  Trying to get a handle on glucose
monitors, and it seems that Dr  Edelman et al are saying that the next step
for diabetics is real- time glucose monitoring. I guess it's being done in
trials but it's not mature enough technology .  Then the next ...

I saw the endo today.  He said because I have bronchiectasis and one cystic
fibrosis mutation (deltaF508), thin and even lost weight (5'10" and 108
lbs), that he is leaning towards pancreatic insufficiency due to a possible
cystic fibrosis type.  I tested negative twice on the sweat ...

I know someone who has an A1c of over 9 - doc says ok till it hits 10.
Most of the references I have checked out go straight into T2.  Got gretchen
becker's prevention book on order, but could do with some references that
separate out T2 and pre-T2 - for the psychological angle.

My husband has type II diabetes and we get his meds from Merck.  They have
just unilaterally switched him from Glucophage XR to Metformin ER.  Is
anyone using the later and have you noticed any difference between the two
drugs?  Metformin is supposed to be the generic for Glucophage ...
