I am recently diagnosed type 2.  The majority of my family has type 1

great with the Gluocophage, diet and exercise except in the late

I'm a newbie with Type 2.  I find that just reading your postings, Mack,
Sleepy, I'm learning a lot.  I don't have time to read all the postings,
so it's a great help just reading yours.  Thanks again.

I am trying to confirm a statement made at the pharmacy today (01/06/2004 - USA) that Ultralente is not going to be made any longer....
I have searched both the lilly and squibb web sites for ULTRALENTE and "found nothing".......
Will be calling "companies" on 01/07/2004 to see ...

Light hearted but on topic:)10 Jan 2004 02:48 GMT6
I shaved my head again last week, and i've noticed that my sugars are
dropping a little faster over night and during the day too. All i can assume
is that because i'm losing heat out of my head that i'm burning energy
faster and that's lowering my sugars. Anyone care to comment:)
Good Control? Tweaking BGs? (T2 questions)10 Jan 2004 02:15 GMT15
I was diagnosed as T2 about 2 months ago and am now on 1000mg/day of
Metformin and testing about 6 times per day. I've been lurking here
since day of diagnosis and have learned alot already (thanks!). I've
got a few questions that maybe some of you veterans can help me with.
Re: The Lab Normal Club (WAS:  Re: What is your A1C Lab Range?)10 Jan 2004 00:02 GMT4
Better still would be for some versed in statistical method to "normilize"
the various ranges such that an equivalent could be found for any range.
A table could be done and depending on one's starting range the
"normalized" number for a 5 or 6 found that would be most like the ...
Soya Milk09 Jan 2004 23:15 GMT4
I noticed it in passing in the supermarket this very morning, but I never
thought to look at the nutrition label.
Since I am bone idle, I don`t want to go there again, just to find out, so I
thought someone here might know, and of course there is the extra advantage
advice needed09 Jan 2004 23:10 GMT36
I've learned an awful lot since I subscribed to this newsgroup, and it's
been very reassuring to a newbie to the beast.  On 9 Jan, I go off to
get blood drawn for an HbA1c and U&E blood test, then go to my
practice's diabetes clinic on 16 Jan.  I have a list of questions for
Diabetes and Kidney Stones..09 Jan 2004 21:54 GMT5

Re: Meds and pp bg testing09 Jan 2004 21:18 GMT1
I suggest taking meds as directed by docter/pharmacist, which assumes it
will get best results at lowering bg levels at any time.  Testing pp bg
levels is independent of the med schedule in that after they do their best
job for you, it can then be determined the impact various foods ...
On the BG rollercoaster today!09 Jan 2004 20:26 GMT68
I don't know what in the heck is going on today, but it's not fun.
Yesterday started out quite normal.  Tested at 143 after lunch.  This is a
bit high for me, but I did eat a new kind of corn chip for my lunch and I
simply chalked it up to eating one too many.  I ate only 6 of them, ...
Do Pharmaceutical Co's suppress the cure for profitable diseases ?09 Jan 2004 19:31 GMT13
There is an article in Diabetes Interview magazine,
(along with a link for a free issue.)
The highlights are as follows:
In 1997, Lilly licensed INGAP, a protein discovered by Dr. Aaron Vinik
liver dumps09 Jan 2004 18:14 GMT16
Does a liver dump involve the same amount of glucose every time or does it
vary based on the low?  If its the same, what is the amount?  Would the
amount (if its the same) also vary slightly for each person?
