Celiac Awareness Month07 Oct 2003 22:56 GMT9
October is celiac (CD) awareness month. What does this have to do with
diabetes you ask ?  Over 5% of all T-1 diabetics have CD.  It is a serious

Yesterday, I broke my thumbnail working on my old Cushman scooter.

the face behind the "voice", I've added my own picture and info to the
ASD website.

rubbing alcohol and blood sugar readings07 Oct 2003 20:47 GMT18
I may be the only person here who doesn't know the answer to this.  I
am a fairly recently diagnosed T2 diabetic.  I am not able to read a
great deal about it right now because of an eye problem unrelated to
diabetes. (cat scratch fever to be exact.) Anyway it has left my
cheating07 Oct 2003 19:52 GMT12
I managed to stay on my super-strict diet for a week,
and today I fell down.  I couldn't take it any more.
I ordered a cheeseburger (with tomato and onion).
And fried scallops (breaded very lightly, not caked-on).

A small rant, a few questions07 Oct 2003 19:15 GMT14
Those of you who may remember my earlier posts know that I was
diagnosed in April as Type 2 and put on Glucovance. Because I'm self
employed I pay 100% of my insurance, which doesn't cover
prescriptions. My dr. has helped greatly by providing me with samples

My grandmother, who is living abroad, has mild diabetes. She takes 2-3

OT Veterans  Not diabetic  maybe07 Oct 2003 17:31 GMT9
From Sleepy's post
PS  The way this nation treats it's veterans and their families, is
and has been, a national disgrace. I feel so sorry for the people who
are getting third class treatment from a government that spits them
OT: T2- why not insulin?07 Oct 2003 14:17 GMT21
I hope you don't mind my asking a question or two, I'm lurking on over from
asd.
I'm a T2, never shot insulin (but the prospect doesn't scare me), in fairly
good control and never even seen a pump in action.
