Hello people.   For those of you that do not know me, (that's most of you) I

on my worst enemy,   I can give further details of myself if anyone wants to
hear my boring story ...lol.
Trying to combine diets for diabetes with Irritable Bowel Syndrome13 Oct 2003 23:28 GMT1
There's a huge new resource for IBS dietary information, with an FAQ
that specifically addresses how to eat safely for IBS if you have
special dietary needs for diabetes as well.  The site section, Eating

Low carb diets and Hba1c13 Oct 2003 23:08 GMT35
Anyone here have experience lowering their carb intake and having
better Hba1c numbers?  If so, how many grams of carbs do you eat per
day, and what % of your calories are carbs? The ADA is so far not
recommending low carb diets, I believe.  It's possible that low carb
Latest numbers13 Oct 2003 22:00 GMT18
Thought I'd share my latest numbers. I don't have beginning numbers to
compare; I only know my previous A1c was 7.2. I was hoping they'd be
better... My doctor blames the cholesterol number on the modified
Atkins plan I'd been following (modified because I eat more vegetables

Ohh boy, well on Friday I started this one week course of these HeliClear
tablets to get rid of the H. pylori gut infection, the one that causes
stomach ulcers. One of the tablets in the pack is Zoton, now I've had that
recently with no problems. However this along with the two ...
Hypo or Hyper?13 Oct 2003 21:31 GMT4
Hi everyone! I have a question...
When you tell someone you have diabetes for the first time, has anyone ever
been asked "So, are you hypoglycemic, or hyperglycemic?" I get asked this
question ALL THE TIME, and I have absolutely no clue what these people are
Trying again13 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT5
I'm determined to crack this dieting. Can someone point me to a web site
that shows reccomended intakes of calories, fats etc.
I seem to remember about 1000 calories, 95g (maybe 9.5) fat.....
I want to sit down and plan a diet schedule and see how it goes.
hypo13 Oct 2003 17:58 GMT19
Is it normal to get a bit grumpy when you have a hypo? Had my first one
yesterday , I think.  Apparently I told HERSELF to " go away" but not so
politely if you know what I mean - which isn't like me at all. She poured
some Lucazade into me and I came back quite quickly - less than ...
Newbie with loads of questions13 Oct 2003 17:48 GMT9
I was diagnosed as Type II in August after having a mild heart attack.  Was
also told that I have high cholesterol, After reading the posts here, I am
really confused about diet, when to test, etc. as it all seems contrary to
what the diabetic dietician and nurses at the hospital ...
What have I missed?13 Oct 2003 17:45 GMT1
Guess I'm a bit behind with things not having a home ISP anymore.
Today we switched to BT so hopefully broadband will be up and running
in three weeks or so. Wife and I got back from Wales this weekend.

difference between glucose and ketone testing13 Oct 2003 17:21 GMT9

Going Through Difficult Times ?13 Oct 2003 17:21 GMT2
Going Through Difficult Times ?
During Difficult times there is no greater support than that afforded by a
Faith in Jesus Christ.
I do not support or propose the use of Faith in God as a substitue for
Re: Observation: Diabetes, Metformin (Glucophage) and Ketosis13 Oct 2003 14:23 GMT2
If you have decided to try the ultra low carb approach, you might consider
the approach used by another low carb advocate, Dr. Bernstein in "Diabetes
Solution".  He says if ultra low carb is not getting the desired weight
loss goal then cut back on the amount of food eaten.  Because ...

I am not a diabetic but have had hypoglycemic spells for 38 years now (57

Re: OT: feral cats was Re: OT Mans best friends Was Re: Newbie post13 Oct 2003 14:05 GMT2
