From a Newcomer - What's a Meter?31 Oct 2003 02:33 GMT67
I have only been diagnosed for a few days, and I haven't been to
Diabetes Education yet or had much time with a doctor. Jennifer's web
site says, "Your meter is your best weapon." Responses to my other
message here refer to the "meter", too.

Well it seem that he did not have another heart attack but

Liver inflammation and diet31 Oct 2003 01:57 GMT33
G'day G'day Folks,
For those who have completed a free registration with Medscape here is
a highly revealing article that lends further support to the concept
on an anti-inflammatory diet.
Stange overnight glucose readings31 Oct 2003 01:56 GMT5
A diagnosed T2 diabetic on 2000 metformin bid, I'm thinking of self
taking an OGTT to determine how atherogenic my condition may be.  My
HbA1c runs around 5.5.  The problem is that my AM fasting glucose
(120) always runs higher than my evening postprandial glucose (70-80).
OT: Fires....31 Oct 2003 01:29 GMT22
At 7 this morning the sun was blood red, surrounded by clouds ranging from pink
to black.  There is ash on my car.  The San Gabriel mountains run some 60 miles
east to west, north of Los Angeles, and the foothills are blazing for maybe 40
miles from San Bernardino in the east to La ...

OT - San Diego Wildfires31 Oct 2003 00:08 GMT7
I was in Hawaii on a working vacation. I had a friend taking
care of my cat, staying part time in my house in Scripps
Ranch, San Diego. On Sunday my friend called me to tell me
my house might have burned down. He said the fire had burned
Cost of Lab Tests for the Uninsured30 Oct 2003 23:06 GMT4
The really on the ball people in the thyroid group are setting up a new webpage
which will have these links (yes I realize these are commercial).  I have no
connection to them, but let me just say this seems like a pretty good idea for
those who are not insured.  I remember a post ...
Hershey's Chocolate Syrup30 Oct 2003 19:30 GMT14
I thought I would add some innocent flavoring to my Milk and Splenda.  My
meter just set a new record for me, at: 344.
Oops.
I checked my reading because I felt all achy in my arms....

Quentin,
Since you follow this stuff at a deeper level than I can, perhaps you can
help me understand something.
A recent study that was all over the media came up with the finding that
Sugar free jelly30 Oct 2003 17:55 GMT6
Has anyone tried Rowntrees sugar free jelly, it delicious and only has
9 calories and 0.2gm of carbohydrate per serving. I can recommend the
raspberry flavour (the only one I've tried :-) ).
I found it lurking on the shelves in Tescos between the normal stuff

group to find out about how to handle my diabetes.
About all I noticed was a production line and a
