Wine, Alcohol and Health18 Oct 2003 05:48 GMT35
I've said in earlier threads that I believe red wine is beneficial to
my diet when taken in moderation. Others have argued against this, and

mutually exclusive. Most of the discussion was anecdotal.
Search for a Cause/ Online Poll18 Oct 2003 05:35 GMT1
Hey has anyone thought about creating a website that polls T1
diabetics for suspected causes? Possibly listing out 200-300 items. I
think this would be great place to start as far as getting suggestions
for these items. I know I've heard milk as one, but it would be
Sugar alcohols18 Oct 2003 05:21 GMT7
I found a "carb-friendly" product at the store today that said it had

stated :

A legitimate medical justification for the MiniMed Paradigm 512?18 Oct 2003 04:41 GMT1
Can anyone think of a legitimate medical reason why the MiniMed Paradigm 512
is superior to the 511 (because of the Bolus Wizard).  I would like to know
because I am going to attempt to get reimbursed by my insurance company so I
would like to have arguments in favor of the 512.
Can anyone recommend a Medicare diabetes supplier?18 Oct 2003 03:48 GMT1
Does anyone know of a supplier of diabetes supplies that will bill Medicare?
Ideally, one that will accept Medicare as payment in full so there is no
'out-of-pocket' cost.
Thank you for your help.

OT THE YANKEES WIN18 Oct 2003 02:18 GMT8
I am saying this in complete sincerity,  I am really sorry that the Red
Sox lost because you were really rooting for them.
My husband said the problem was that the starting pitcher was allowed to
stay too long  I dont know if that is true, but it sounds good.
Aging, nutrition, etc. and diabetes18 Oct 2003 00:10 GMT1
Here is an intresting interview which is not directly speaking about
diabetes.  It does speak of many of the topics that we have here and do
relate to it, insulin usage, carb usage and types thereof, premature aging
in diabetes and other interesting matters.

HOMA factor17 Oct 2003 23:31 GMT2
After Old Al's pointer to calculate my HOMA factor to find out if I am
insulin resistant I finally managed to calculate a conversion factor for
insulin from pmol/L to microUnits/L in order to do so. My fasting
insulin was 40 pmol/L which equates to 5.8 microUnits/L and my last
Interesting Visit to Diabetes Nurse17 Oct 2003 23:17 GMT36
I went for a routine visit to the diabetes nurse today, to check my A1c
results, basically.
The figure was 6%, down from a figure I've forgotten, but somewhere in
the region of 6.7% I think. She said that she hadn't seen better figures
