Question about BG19 Oct 2003 01:36 GMT25
Hey folks,
I have *another* stupid question... I have been on metformin (1000mg in the

levels drop from the 300's down to what they are now (80-100).  I am

I've been reading some of the other threads about alcohol consumption and it
makes me wonder if I should consider making a small moderate drink part of
my daily intake or not.
I'm not talking about getting wasted or bombed, but rather thinking about

What's the deal with bananas ?18 Oct 2003 23:09 GMT16
My aunt is diabetic and she doesn't tolerate (or prefer to avoid)
bananas
While it may seem sensible to avoid something so high in simple sugar,
banana is actually low in glycemic index, it contains fibers that
Preventing the worst18 Oct 2003 23:07 GMT19
My best friend, Mike, had type 1 diabetes. One day he noticed
he had a hangnail on his right big toe. Despite treatment, 12 months
later he had to have the toe amputated. He was really bad on his
diet & excercise - he would have bad insulin reactions almost
Just tested my mother...18 Oct 2003 23:04 GMT6
I was diagnosed Diabetes 2 last year while I was living in the States.
My mother (aged 73) had an leg wound that was not responding to treatment.
I suggested that she got her GP to test her for Diabetes (initially he told
her that this was not necessary)
BG after exercise18 Oct 2003 22:26 GMT4
Has anyone experienced a radical surge of BG after a strenuous one hour
morning exercise (treadmill at a pace of 9.5) ? In my case my BG goes up
constantly at least 3.0 mmol (54) from what I would have at the same time in
the morning without exercise.

We are now accepting bets that a well known troll will offer the solution
and it will be "successful" but is more likely one version of the troll
pumping another name for the same troll.

Might need someone to help you though... ;-)
From abcnews.com:-
Sex, if nothing else, is exercise. A vigorous bout burns some 200
calories - about the same as running 15 minutes on a treadmill or
