Disturbing encounter01 Oct 2003 00:52 GMT15
I thought my meter was reading a little high recently.  Plus the difference
between the last laboratory FBG and my meter was 15 points. Everytime before
that they were virtually identical.  I had a doctor's appointment last week,
so I stopped by the endo clinic to have them check ...
I'm hobbling today.01 Oct 2003 00:52 GMT39
I think I might have jinxed myself yesterday.  Was talking to my neighbor
about medical problems.  Mentioned to her that I used to have a bad knee
that would subloxate (sp?).  That's when the knee cap pops out and then back
in on its own accord.  I was plagued by this problem from ...
Two hour post dinner testing01 Oct 2003 00:16 GMT26
I've always heard that 2 hours after dinner is when your bg number will be
at it's peak and that is the way I've been testing it.  Last night, I tested
at 2 hours and was 105.  Tested one hour later and was 144 :o  Had nothing
to eat or drink between dinner and the 2 and 3 hour ...

The return of a great resource site30 Sep 2003 20:58 GMT1
Welcome back to the new TalkOnDiabetes.net!
Hello, Friends, it's great to be back and giving help and kind words
to all of those that need. About last year, we decided to take the
site down for renovations. Now, with close to about 30,000 visitors,

This Is Conni Brady. DO NOT EMAIL ME cussing at me anymore. If you continue,
I will have no other choice than to contact your service provider and let
them know you are abusing their newsgroup users.

Newbie first post30 Sep 2003 20:07 GMT17
Hi I'm a clueless newbie, and I was hoping I could get some advice.  I was
diagnosed with type 1 about two years ago.  I'm taking 29 units of insulin
at night.  My Endocrinologist had me using a insulin pen which seemed to
help, but I stopped because it was so expensive.  I'm seeing ...
Hurricane Isabel30 Sep 2003 18:48 GMT12
Any other Isabel survivors out there?  We didn't do too badly.  We were
without power for 3 days and internet access for 4 days.  We lost probably
about $200 of food, but were able to save most of our meats.  No trees fell
on our house and no water or sewage damage.  Adjusting what ...
mechanical islets30 Sep 2003 18:44 GMT4
I don't know why blood glucose testing technology can not be coupled with an
insulin pump to continuously monitor blood sugar and automatically alloquat
a required amount of insulin as it is needed.  I think there would even be a
cure for our affliction if there was not so much ...
intro/scary night30 Sep 2003 18:32 GMT32
Okay, let's start over again.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in early September.
So I am really new at this.
I was the poor soul who asked for a cookbook that didn't use artifical
Giving blood30 Sep 2003 18:11 GMT6
In July I started giving blood. This past Tuesday was my second donation and
I've noticed BGs after meals that are high, at least for me.
I was diagnosed in May 2001 and have been fortunate enough to control my
levels with diet and exercise. I admit to being a bit sloppy with the ...

OT: Frre Forte Advice Please30 Sep 2003 15:02 GMT10
When I expand my threads on Free Forte, it gives a "stepped"
appearance allowing me to follow who is replying to whom. This works
fine until I get to the sixth level, then they stop "stepping" and
appear in a straight line down the page.
Sudden Drop in BG numbers30 Sep 2003 14:37 GMT8
I wonder if any of you faced something similar to what is currently
happening to me, I have had my BGs under good control since diagnosis (
nearly 10 months now), no problem at all.But for the last 4 days, I have
noticed that my numbers have dropped dramatically, I usually have my ...
Diastix30 Sep 2003 12:33 GMT3
As many of you know, I'm a devoted user of Diastix to test my sodas when in
restaurants, since I can't tell the difference between regular and diet.
In a few weeks we'll be going for a long weekend to the Bahamas, courtesy of
my husband's company.  (Never been, looking forward to ...
