HgbA1C, Part 325 Feb 2009 19:52 GMT1
I had to snicker.  I picked up my "records" from my old dentist, whom I fired
yesterday.  It included exactly two x-rays from last July.  The technical
quality was the pits, too.  But no paperwork; no x-rays from two weeks ago;
nothing else.
HgbA1C Revisited25 Feb 2009 00:30 GMT1
Well, my dentist finally wandered back into town and I stopped in to speak with
him today.  He had looked at the labs I had provided and then gave me a song and
dance about covering himself in case I bled or if something else unpleasant
occurred.  Well, if he's worried about ...
Whitening -- Effective? Safe? Recommendations?24 Feb 2009 19:25 GMT3
My daughter politely suggested that I ought to consider getting my
teeth whitened. She said she has been using some over-the-counter
strips that she puts on at night.
To me, my teeth don't look "discolored", but they are not bright
HgbA1C?  (long)19 Feb 2009 20:53 GMT4
I have a past history of diabetes that was originally treated with oral
hypoglycemics, then later with a gastric bypass.  At this point in time I am on
no meds.  My last HgbA1C was in the 6.5 range IIRC but it was done about three
years ago.
Dental Insurance19 Feb 2009 01:01 GMT1
Was wondering what Dental Insurance plan or plans  you would recommend.
Thanks and God Bless.

Redoing Flipper17 Feb 2009 04:26 GMT3
You probably remember the last post but in a nutshell, it was modified
by my oral surgeon, not the dentist who gave it to me. The gum over
the past 6 weeks has receded and there is a space now between gum and
top of tooth (#11, extracted 6 weeks ago). I have tried to wear it but
Role of Bacteria in Periodontal Disease!!!!!!15 Feb 2009 19:17 GMT1
Nice to see a round table discussion in Compendium of C.E. in
Dentistry , Jan/Feb 2009 edition, page46.
I would only agree with Thomas E. Van Dyke, DDS, Phd.  some
interesting quotes:
last week's Jane Brody's article on TMJ15 Feb 2009 16:26 GMT1
Last week's syndicated column talked about treatment for TMJ.
I wrote her a letter saying it was a good article on a difficult
subject.  I disagreed that occlusion was not involved.  I told her to
get a second opinion from aes-tmj.org.   I told her I can give people
perio treatment, preterm delivery unrelated, study shows15 Feb 2009 16:22 GMT3
So says the ADA News, Feb, 2, 2009.  page 12.
Not surprising.  It is not the tooth to body connection but the body
to tooth connection that is so  important.

Implant Crown vs. Regular Crown15 Feb 2009 02:03 GMT6
I am at the end point of the surgical placement of two implants. Naturally,
insurance did not cover the cost. An abutment tooth under a 20+ year old
bridge had developed decay below the gum line. The periodontist stated that
by the time they cut off the old bridge, performed ...
Teeth Meet Only On One Side Of Mouth14 Feb 2009 15:57 GMT1
I may need to lose two of my teeth on one size of the mouth ,this would
result in the remaining top side teeth having  no corresponding bottom
teeth.
My side teeth on the other side have two top and bottom that meet up OK.
I use floss, is a "Gum Stimulator" also necessary?14 Feb 2009 04:26 GMT1
Just curious.  I don't have any gum problems or anything.
braces or teeth grinding 13 Feb 2009 04:49 GMT1
I'm 33 years old, and until a few months ago I'd never had a dentist suggest
braces.  I have had several comment on my teeth grinding, and I have a night
guard I wear intermittently.
I moved and got a new dentist a few months ago and he suggested I get braces
Scaler for home use?12 Feb 2009 13:51 GMT8
I don't see the point of paying some community college dropout $80 to
scrape tartar off my teeth.  Where could I pick up a scaler to do the
job myself?
Lidocaine, restricted substance in Canada?12 Feb 2009 13:49 GMT2
I'm wondering if a licence is required to purchase lidocaine in
Canada.
I have a friend in Cuba and she is a family Dentist.  For a 3rd world
country I'm quite
