Fractured tooth with crown needs to be extracted, what to expect?14 Aug 2007 19:21 GMT32
Greetings all,
I have to get my previously crowned  molar (#19) removed - it did have
a root canal about 5 years ago. I developed an abscess recently and
Endo tells me it is fractured. I've been on antibiotics for a week.

Costa Rica Dentists14 Aug 2007 16:01 GMT2
Dave,
Please help.  I am exploring using dentists in Costa Rica.  This
can be a slippery slope.  I think some have suggested implants that I
am certain will not succeed.  I need an ethical dentist.  Can you
Small White bump14 Aug 2007 14:29 GMT3
Last Tuesday, I was eating some potato chips and one felt like it cut
back part of my mouth/gum on the left side, right behind the last
molar. it bleed a very small amount and was very sore.  Saw a very
small white area (raised a little bit) when I felt the "cut" last
root canal vs. extraction14 Aug 2007 13:49 GMT12
I am having problems with an upper back tooth (#2), which has
previously been crowned.  My dentist says I need a root canal and new
crown.  But I feel at my age (68 years old) that an extraction would
be as sensible as putting all the work and expense into another root
Wearing a retainer after several years of not wearing it14 Aug 2007 08:00 GMT3
Hi all. It's been a couple of years since I've worn my retainer after
I've gotten my braces off. The main reason why I'm doing so is to
protect my teeth against the teeth grinding problem I've been having.
Is there any harm in wearing it again as I can feel that my teeth do
Is there a connection between TMJ problems and throat problems?13 Aug 2007 16:56 GMT1
I have had a TMJ problem for sometime.  In the last six weeks I have a
problem with my throat and swallowing and discomfort when i turn my

throat?
How effective is Water Pic?  Other cleaning questions ...13 Aug 2007 05:28 GMT8
Due to recent experience, I'm now a big believer in keeping teeth
clean.  I've been using a Water Pic in addition to brushing and
flossing.  It 'feels' effective and frequently disoldges food debris.
However, my hygenist told me last visit that I needed to do a better
orthodontics question - time period between palatal expander and braces13 Aug 2007 05:15 GMT2
My 10-yr old daughter has had a palatal expander for 2.5 years.  Now,
the orthodontist recommends braces.  I have heard so many bad
experiences with young kids and braces - they get them off in 6 grade
and then have to do them again in 10th grade.
cavity prevention question...11 Aug 2007 19:51 GMT17
i just got back from my dentist and he did x-rays of my teeth and he
said there was a "trouble spot where it looked like something had
gotten in there" between two of my teeth.  he said the area was still
hard so it wasn't a cavity (yet), but that i should floss diligently
Flosspop.com – Dentist Dream Come True.11 Aug 2007 14:40 GMT1
Thanks for reading my post.  We all know that flossing just isn’t fun
– especially for a child.  This was the problem that I faced with my
four year-old daughter after dinner and before bed. The fact is, one
can spend all day explaining the benefits of flossing to a child but
See doctor or dentist?09 Aug 2007 20:42 GMT14
I think I may have TMJ and was wondering which professional I should
see: Doctor or Dentist? The reason is because I don't have dental
insurance, but I do have medical insurance. If I were to go to a
doctor, is there a specific specialist doctor I should see?
Root Canal Gone Wrong09 Aug 2007 19:55 GMT17
June 2005 went to dentist because of toothache in #13.  He took x-rays and
said #13 & #14 would have to be root canaled.  #14 did not bother me and had
no cavity.  He did both root canals at the same time.  I was only on
antibiotics for 2 days before he began procedure.  There was ...
Strange pain in teeth09 Aug 2007 18:55 GMT2
A couple of months ago or so I was feeling a needle like pain, intermittent
and of short duration, just a second. It was as if a needle was pricking my
teeth inside. It wasn't always in the same tooth and it was kind of random.
A month ago I went to clean the teeth, deep cleaning ...
