Burning Mouth Syndrome04 May 2007 15:31 GMT1
For information purposes:
I went to see a dentist to have a crown re-cemented.  For some reason
while he was re-cementing my crown I touch the cement (straight glass
ionomer - no resin) with my tongue.  I had an immediate reaction,
Transected lingual nerve during wisdom tooth extraction: question for practising dentists.04 May 2007 01:33 GMT1
I had a wisdom tooth extracted in January.
As soon as the local anaesthetic wore off, I became aware that my
tongue and gums on the right side were completely numb.
Cutting a long story short, it turned out the lingual nerve had been
black front tooth in 4 yr old?03 May 2007 17:25 GMT5
I am trying to get some advice about my 4yr old daughter's top front
tooth.  We have just noticed it is looking a bit gray, and from behind
there is clearly a dark centre to it.  So, I gather that most likely
the nerve has died.  She complained of pain a couple days ago, but
Overbite problem not corrected for 2 years!03 May 2007 17:23 GMT16
I am reposting this coz it got sunk to the bottom.  Some 1 month ago,
I posted here and people asked me to put a few pictures on the web, so
that they can have a wiser judgment.

replacing a bridge03 May 2007 14:41 GMT13
Visited the dentist last week, discovered that my bridge
(across #13) has a leak... a gap has opened at #12, and
that tooth has decayed.  How far gone, as yet unknown,
they need to remove the bridge to get a peek.
loose 'membrane' on extraction site03 May 2007 04:59 GMT1
Had a couple more pre-molars extracted. On the first pair of
extraction sites, they are clean.
But on the second pair, there is a layer of loose whitish membrane
covering the site. I tried to pull it off, but it bleeds. So I left

Age to start orthodontic treatment02 May 2007 05:37 GMT21
At what age should kids start orthodontic treatment. My child is 7.5
and has replaced 6 front teeth. The 4 lower ones are a little crowded
but in right position. And the 2 upper incisor looks big, a bit
protruding and has a big gap between them.
A cosmetic question02 May 2007 00:05 GMT5
I've got a permanent bridge that was put in over 20 years ago, and it's
fine, except one front tooth is a little off in color from the other.
Is there any covering that can be "painted" on that would allow the two to
match?
inlays01 May 2007 13:18 GMT14
just curious, why would a patient opt for an inlay restoration when a
direct compositie restoration is few hundreds cheaper?
can I afford to go to dental school?01 May 2007 11:28 GMT5
I am 29 years old and would love to go to dental school. My problem
is, just like an old post I just read, that I am starting to wonder if
it's worth the economical sacrifice? IS it going to pay off in the
end?
