what can I expect with brite smile04 Apr 2007 15:46 GMT7
I have had some reminerlization between teeth and they are slightly
stained. I have been using GC Tooth Mouse to help in remineralization.
What can I expect if I want to have my teeth whitened with say the
brite smile procedure? Would trays be better?
Abscess04 Apr 2007 08:57 GMT31
I visited my dentist the other day because I have an abscess above a
crowned tooth - upper right-hand side, fourth tooth from rear. The
abscess isn't giving me enormous trouble at the moment, but obviously I
would like it dealt with.
Dishonest Dentists03 Apr 2007 16:51 GMT15
I've seen undercover research in Reader's Digest and from an
un-broadcasted Prime Time Live episode from 1997 that, statistically,
most dentists are greedy, if not greedy liars. This is my personal
experience as well.
Extraction/Braces03 Apr 2007 15:36 GMT5
I'm flying out the country to get dental treatment. I have a
malocculsion of my teeth. I have a bite that grinds the upper and
lower teeth together. So obviously I want to fix this. I might need
tooth extraction on my lower jaw but I want to know how long the
Soda and tooth decay.02 Apr 2007 23:34 GMT3
I heard Dean Edell on the radio mention something about 5% of the
tooth decays when placed in a jar of soda.
How does this translate to real life? Our teeth are not continually
immersed in soda.

New Baby Teeth Yellowed02 Apr 2007 16:54 GMT18
My son started teething early and had his 1st tooth by 4 1/2 months.
Now at 6 1/2 months he's got four teeth with 2 more on the way.
Anyways, at least 2 of his teeth look yellowed.  He's exclusively
breasfed, has never had a bottle and is not on any iron.  He's barely
Current SMD environment02 Apr 2007 13:54 GMT3
Haven't the past few months been pretty nice on SMD?
New dentists posting, very little argumentative behavior,
not much spam, open sharing of ideas, and patients asking
and getting decent advice.

Amalgam vs. Composite01 Apr 2007 13:46 GMT25
Just curious, what's the real difference between an amalgam filling
and a composite one?  Is it a matter of quality or appearance?  Just
visited my new dentist for a full exam and 2 X-rays.  He gave me an
estimate of the work I need done, and he lists 3 amalgam fillings and
Sudden discoloration on top front teeth01 Apr 2007 13:22 GMT7
Today I noticed that 2 of my top front teeth have turned brown--the pattern
is striped. My daughter said she noticed this a few days ago. This is quite
recent. I have bleached my teeth in the past with good results, and one of
the 2 teeth that turned had a long ago (13+ years) ...
Tori once removed are coming back01 Apr 2007 13:10 GMT3
About 5 years ago I had a huge tori removed from the roof of my mouth and
from the upper side. The other day I was sucking on a mouth mint and noticed
the roof of my mouth was getting irritated. When I ran my tongue over the
sore spot I was horrified to discover that the once ...
