Need some dental advice31 Mar 2007 17:47 GMT55
This is my first time posting in this newsgroup and I am hoping to
gather some opinions regarding my experience with a dentist. I will
start at the beginning and please forgive me if this is a bit long. I
am under UnitedHealtcare Medicaid and I have not been to a dentist in
do-it-yourself, self orthodontic by layman, possible?31 Mar 2007 12:09 GMT23
I'm not sure about exact terms. Maxillary lateral incisors are not
aligned (almost correct) with central incisors (rotated back). I will
need some aesthetic rotation (not translation, but forward rotation)
of my maxillary central incisors (lateral incisors and canines are
How crazy is this?31 Mar 2007 00:20 GMT1
According to PIAA, the consortium of 60 malpractice insurers in the
US, the average cost of litigation for dental injury resulting from
laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation is $10,000 and this is the cause
of the greatest number of cases of litigation against anesthesia
Is this Dry Socket?30 Mar 2007 15:34 GMT31
Hi, on Boxing day I got one of my top-back teeth taken out. Afterwards
it was bleeding like all do, and still bleeding a little the next day.
Now, where the tooth was taken out - there was like a big spot there,
maybe full of blood I dont know. But I've been getting a horrible taste
An update on my situation30 Mar 2007 13:28 GMT2
Last week I posted a message in this group (need some dental
advice)... I had visited a dentist through medicaid and basically he
looked in my mouth with a mirror,  had a hygienist polish my teeth,
then sent me packing and said my mouth was perfectly fine.

Orthodontics questions28 Mar 2007 18:19 GMT3
Is it true that for braces to pull in the protruding front teeth, it
must be 'anchored' to somewhere (molars?) in order to exert force to
pull the incisors and canines in?
Do the molars also move forward as a result, just like a tug of war?
calcified nerve27 Mar 2007 19:19 GMT12
What is the cause of calcified nerve? Are tooth wear and little
remaining enamel the reasons?
Valplast Partial Cost27 Mar 2007 13:15 GMT11
I have a question regarding the price quoted for a Valplast upper
partial that will replace all but the front 8 teeth.  She has no work
to be done to these other teeth and I'm wondering if the $1700.00
quoted to her is about average for this type of work.
overpayment collection26 Mar 2007 15:06 GMT12
I had a dental work (implants) done last year, my former health
insurance paid a portion of it and I paid the rest. Afterwards the
insurance company send me a check for $2000+ as a benefit under my
secondary coverage. Now they are trying to collect this amount back
NTI impressions today26 Mar 2007 15:01 GMT37
Well, I got the impressions done today.  I expressed my concern about
any difficulty getting that thing out of my mouth.  The very nice lady
said not to worry -- she wouldn't leave my side.  True to her word,
she held the tray in place and kept testing the material.  It was less
digital x-rays25 Mar 2007 14:51 GMT19
Going digital soon.  What's been the group's experience with various
systems.  Already have Schick cameras, so have that software already on
computers in each operatory.  John
Extraction/Braces23 Mar 2007 19:09 GMT1
I'm flying out the country to get dental treatment. I have a
malocculsion of my teeth. I have a bite that grinds the upper and
lower teeth together. So obviously I want to fix this. I might need
tooth extraction on my lower jaw but I want to know how long the
