I am 29 years old. I have a few fillings but no crowns or other major dental work. My gums used to get tender but have been in pretty good condition lately. Regardless, I thought that I would buy a Waterpik to add to my regimen of brushing and flossing. I tried it out. I can't

| Different anesthesia = different procedures? | 08 Dec 2006 18:15 GMT | 5 |
I'm scheduled to have my lower third molars removed in two days; one due to severe decay and loss (less than 15% remaining above gumline), the other because it is starting to go down the same road. I haven't made the decision yet whether to do so under local anesthesia (awake)

| Front office problem? | 07 Dec 2006 20:17 GMT | 5 |
Let me know if I'm off base, or there's a better approach, please. I found a dentist nearby, fairly recent UCLA grad, whose work I really appreciated. Over an 18 month period he did about $6K worth of work...many crowns replaced, couple root canals, etc. During this time

My dentist recently advised me that a previously heavily repaired tooth which is showing signs of decays again would be better replaced with a crown. I have no objection with his reccommendation but I now have to make a choice. The location of the tooth, although not a front one,

| Tooth extracted - how does the hole heal? | 06 Dec 2006 15:59 GMT | 17 |
Hi. I had a wisdom tooth removed the other day. Could someone tell me how the hole heals itself? Does it heal from the bottom upwards - i.e. pushing any food that may have got trapped in there out as it heals. Or will the hole close up by healing from the sides of the hole - i.e.

I was told that some crowns are made in the dental office and those that can't be made there, I am assuming house "complicated" ones, are sent to the the lab. I am concern about the quality of those in-house crowns in comparison
