A friend had 4 wisdom teeth extracted Friday morning. She still has pain for which she is taking Tylenol. Also, she said another tooth hurt during the night but then stopped. She doesn't seem to have swelling on the outside of her face; I don't know about inside. Could

| Composite Crowns | 13 Nov 2006 02:09 GMT | 3 |
I understand that crowns made of composite material are available now. I'm wondering what the professionals who post here think of the quality of these crowns compared to porcelain and PFM crowns. What advantages are there?

| Oragel - does it work? | 11 Nov 2006 20:25 GMT | 10 |
I have a tooth - #30 - which has had a root canal and a crown and still is very sensitive to pressure. If I brush it with my electric toothbrush it hurts; not enough to scream in pain but enough to want to be very gentle when brushing it.

I'm booked in to have my upper wisdom teeth removed in a few days time, on the advice of my Canadian dentist. I am 33 years old. My upper wisdom teeth came through in my early 20s, and have never given me so much as a moment's bother. However, I have no lower

| non-compete agreement-- lawyer | 11 Nov 2006 14:38 GMT | 1 |
I was just fired as an associate from a practice (not enough work). My contract with that practice included a non-compete clause. Many aspects of the work arrangement changed after contract signing, so I need a lawyer to help me figure out if the non-compete still applies.

| Is a baking soda toothpaste OK for veneers? | 11 Nov 2006 00:48 GMT | 1 |
I used washing soda to remove some wallpaper earlier this year and it worked like a wonder. I recently bought Arm & Hammer baking soda toothpaste and it seems to work quite well on one stained tooth I have. Now, I know baking soda is much milder than washing soda, but,

| Pediatric crossbite | 09 Nov 2006 19:00 GMT | 1 |
My son's pediatric dentist is recommending a w-wire for crossbite. What I've read on the topic, there are two schools of thoughts. One advocates two phase treatment - orthodontia at a young age, then a second phase during the teen years. The other side seems to feel the ...

Headaches and migraines are almost always caused by the same underlying reason. We who suffer from these conditions are more sensitive to stress and tension than other people around us.

| Invisalign, braces or just don't bother | 08 Nov 2006 22:50 GMT | 3 |
I am 40 years old and my lower teeth are quite crooked and my uppers in pretty good shape. My dentist has been pushing me to get Invisalign done. It certainly wouldn't be for cosmetic reasons as the bottom being crooked doesn't bother me.

| Avitan before Root Canal | 08 Nov 2006 22:11 GMT | 2 |
I am anxious for a root canal tomorrow. Although this endodontist says no big deal - will take just over an hour, I know I will be a bundle of nerves. He said taking Valium is ok and shouldn't interfere with the novacaine, if I wanted to try that - plus he could add nitrous to the

| Occlussal Guard | 08 Nov 2006 22:07 GMT | 1 |
My insurance pays for mouth guards with code D7880 ($130 my cost). I have bruxism and my 9-year old guard made under the same code is broken. However, the dentist wants me to get the guard under D9940 costing me $450 out of pocket. Is there a difference. I have bruxism, not TMJ. ...
