alternatives to narcotic pain relievers after wisdom tooth extraction
are there.  My Dr. prescribed percocet 5mg/500mg acetominophen.  Is

Perio Chart23 Jul 2006 20:21 GMT4
I go to my dentist every 6 months.  About once a year, he sticks a
probe in my gums and says "3, 2, 3, 4, 2..."  to his assistant.  What
is he checking for and what do the numbers mean?

About 5 years ago I had a back tooth taken out and just have a gap
there, which suprisingly hasn't bothered me that much.
About 2 weeks ago when brushing my teeth I noticed the area around the
gum had a bit of a bump on it so I pushed the bump lightly and yellow

Can nicotine (like in nicotine gum) alone cause gum recession, or does
only using tobacco products cause it, like cigs and chewing tobacco?
I.e. is it nicotine, or all the other tobacco chemicals?  thanks

I think my options are to get an implant or leave it as is.
What types of problems might be encountered with neighboring teeth
after extraction

Fear of extraction. Request  dentist recommendation, San Jose area.22 Jul 2006 10:30 GMT4
I will need to have the bottom left middle molar tooth removed due to

Invisalign as a retainer - long term21 Jul 2006 20:42 GMT6
No one maybe able to answer this question since Invisalign is
relatively new.  I was wondering about the long term viability of
Invisalign as a retainer.  More specifically has anyone kept and used
their last mounthpiece and used it as a retainer for a long period?
Request information for crown replacement21 Jul 2006 19:40 GMT2
I could use some information/advice because I sure didn't get any
from my last dentist.  My situation is this.  A few years ago I had to
have a root canal (no posts) and crown placed on #14.  It had a deep
filling through the top of the tooth placed many years before that
Need Periodontist in Los Angeles21 Jul 2006 07:00 GMT2
I need a periodontist to get a second opinion.  Can someone here give
me some names?  There are not a lot of periodontists listed in the
phone book and they all seem to be part of these big group practices
that make you go through a big deal to get to the specialist.
