Questions to ask Dentist about Trauma caused by Veneer Removal31 Mar 2006 22:34 GMT2
I had two veneers removed and a gingivectomy for aesthetic reasons.
Week and a half afterward it looks like the tooth behind the temp
veneer is turning black.
Any idea what causes this and what should I ask the dentist when I head
second opinion31 Mar 2006 19:50 GMT4
I brought my two children aged 13 and 10 to the pediatric dentist last
night and I was recommended to have root canal on two teeth for my 13
year old and 7 baby teeth extraction for my 10 year old .  She
recommended this after taking x-rays.

Amalgmas; don't sweat it existing DDS's30 Mar 2006 10:58 GMT14
Check Aol; "What Dentists don't want you to know". Rest assured DDS's,
people like Joel are on your side - I would be comforted with that.
Thankfully, patients are at least being exposed to a choice - are you
pro-choice?
Denture Causing Tooth Pain?29 Mar 2006 22:38 GMT2
About a month ago I received a lower partial denture that clasps to the
left 2nd premolar, left 2nd molar, and right 1st premolar. All other
teeth have been extracted. The denture feels more or less tight &
secure but I'm noticing intermittent discomfort/pain in the remaining
Cracked root: how long can I go without extraction?29 Mar 2006 18:04 GMT3
My #7 and #9 crowns (upper front teeth that is) need to be redone for
cosmetic reasons (darn, they were made 5 years ago by the most
expensive doc in town). And now #8 needs extraction. My prosthodontist
recommends putting a temporary bridge over the three teeth.
ROOT CANAL/CROWN NOW OR LATER?29 Mar 2006 16:46 GMT7
I'm 43 y.o.  I have a bottom rear molar with an old large amalgam that
is occasionally cold sensitive.  Should I get it root canalled now or
wait until I start experience real difficulty with it?  I also ask
because my dental insurance will be running out soon and I doubt I'll
Wearing a Retainer after a long time29 Mar 2006 06:09 GMT1
So, I haven't worn my retainer in 3 years since I got my braces off, I
basically stopped wearing it  after about a year.   So its three years
later and I'm now 19, I cleaned them off and popped em back in.  They
hurt like hell, but fit.  So I wore them for about a week.  They hurt a
dentist refuses to cooperate28 Mar 2006 23:46 GMT8
my husband (30 years young - not many fillings), went to see a dentist
from his provider group here in Chicago. I would appreciate your
thoughts since I have never had the problem he faces. My insurance
allows me to see whomever I want (it's a german dental plan).
Humble Opinions Needed For Dental Disaster28 Mar 2006 21:39 GMT1
I'll keep it short and to the point this time.
I have 2 molars on the top, broken off at gumline, need to be
extracted. 1 eye tooth, barely there also needs to be extracted.
Only good teeth on top are two front.
Impressions28 Mar 2006 16:10 GMT2
Intended on getting an implant. Dentist took impressions. Decided to
cancel implant and go with partial plate. Dentist says needs another
"different type" impressions. Does that sound right?
Another question of ethics28 Mar 2006 16:08 GMT2
I have a local dentist 3 miles away.
She's been referring me to an oral surgeon's office about 25-30 miles
away.
After various problems with both dentists, I do some research, only to
An ethical question28 Mar 2006 03:14 GMT8
Need advice. I had a presumably excellent orthodontist who also did
general practice. Then I gave birth, quit my job and got divorced. All
of the sudden, I found myself with no money at all, and lots of dental
work to do. I admitted to my dentist that I can't afford him right now.
How long may pain last after extraction27 Mar 2006 18:38 GMT2
Just wondered how long I might have to wait for the pain to subside after having
a lower molar removed recently. (Yes I suppose it is a bit like how long is a
piece of string). Anyway, the story is...
1st attempt at removing molar failed - too painful
