Root Canal questions11 Feb 2006 20:42 GMT3
I just had my post-core done today but the dentist says that there is
more decay near the base of the tooth and that I will need an oral
surgery procedure to fix this. They say it is neccesary to build back
the tooth. Just curious what this procedure is called and what it does.

Toothpick instead of floss11 Feb 2006 07:53 GMT2
I read on a dentist's website that, for those who hate to floss, using a
toothpick after each meal is a good alternative.  He said that the grain
of the wood does a better job at scraping off food particles than the
smoother floss.  Since I have some crooked teeth, I usually use ...

be one year old very soon. I thought it was an injury and got an

Alernatives to Bridge10 Feb 2006 13:38 GMT4
My dentist recently told me he was going to have to extract my tooth (bottom
left).  He said I would have to get a brigde.  I would get a crown to fill in
the gap, but that he would have to file down the teeth next to it in so that
the bridge could be permanently attached.  This ...
To Joel or Gabe10 Feb 2006 06:04 GMT1
My previous post was sort of answered, but we seemed to get off subject
with medication.  I am no longer taking "any" medication.  My question
is, I had a crown put on a live tooth on Saturday, and I no longer have
any pain it that tooth.  The problem is when I drink something ...
Coating teeth10 Feb 2006 06:02 GMT2
In 1988 I had an adult friend who had NO cavities. His father was a
dentist. I asked him how he did it, did he brush after every meal? no.
Did he not eat sweets? no. What happened was his father coated his
teeth (and did flouride treatments) religiously every 6 months.
Root Canal??09 Feb 2006 13:51 GMT52
My dentist says I need a root canal.  I am in my twenties and have
pretty good teeth and a very good diet.
A filling fell out and, since it didn't hurt, I took my time in getting
it filled.  Even though I have no pain, this dentist says I need a root

Swollen Left Cheek From Dental Cleaning With Prophy/Jet09 Feb 2006 01:12 GMT2
Hi...
I recently had my teeth cleaned and the assistant used a prophy jet to
do the final wash. Upon cleaning my lower teeth, the jet seemed to have
agitated a nerve or something between my lower teeth and cheek. My
