Cracked Back Tooth - Decision Time11 Nov 2005 15:45 GMT4
I have got a back tooth on the RHS of my jaw with a huge filling that
has cracked and causing discomfort when I eat. Due to the 'hack and
crack' method utilised by a trainee dentist when i was on the public
health system 10 years ago, I have had the back 3 teeth on the LHS
Bone graft for a dental implant10 Nov 2005 21:10 GMT8
I am planning to have a crown put in for a tooth in the upper right
side towards the back (tooth #3). The tooth there was extracted about a
year ago. Since there is not enough bone, a bone graft needs to be done
for the dental implant to be put in.There are 2 procedures to do this.

For George Chatzipetros08 Nov 2005 18:14 GMT9
Can I call you "Chatty" for short?
Actually, I asked the endo if the decay came from the missed canal and he
told me that it hadn't.  Part of the canal that my dentist missed had
calcified and the endo is still trying to find it.  So, it appears that he
The pain scale of 1-1008 Nov 2005 16:03 GMT19
I cut this section from the thread:  Two bad dentists in a row...is this
normal?"  I think the topic deserves its own thread.

crown complication part deux07 Nov 2005 20:52 GMT12
Had a crown replaced 6 months ago and off and on it hurts when I floss.
Otherwise no pain and no blood.  With the old crown there was a bad
smell in the area as there was bacteria in the tooth.  Dentist said to
wait and see if the pain would go away.

However, the trend is now with so many practices that you now must make a
second visit to see the hygienist. For me each visit, with ...

Whitening Toothpaste: damage to your teeth?07 Nov 2005 17:35 GMT2
How does whitening toothpaste work? Is it abrasive? Does it work like a
sandpaper and therefore will damage your teeth for long term use? Does
it work like painting your wall with white paint? Does it work like
regular tooth paste but with stronger cleaning chemical formula?
