Implant questions15 Nov 2005 02:57 GMT21
Looks like I need an implant for #15. I'm a bit confused on
the timelines to do this. Assuming no complications what could
I expect from removal, implant, temp crown to perm crown?
I plan to visit a few surgeons - what are the questions to ask
Implant failures15 Nov 2005 02:50 GMT3
Hi group. I had 8 Nobel Biocare implants for a complete top set
procedure. Two were placed after bone graft. One failed, was regrafted,
re implanted and left for 8 months. Lat week the site was opened up and
another failure - no explanation other than thats just the way it is.
Is it a good idea to do 5-6 implants at once...14 Nov 2005 23:03 GMT5
...as opposed to doing 2-3 at a time?
I am getting 5-6 done through the periodontal program at the dental
school and the oral surgeon/student is planning to do 5-6 implants. It
occurred to me that this may be very traumatic, as I know someone who
Prevident: hygenist vs. insurance14 Nov 2005 20:08 GMT4
At my twice-yearly cleaning/checkup appointments
I've declined the flouride wash because my
insurance didn't cover it. This time the other
of the two hygenists in the office handled
Two bad dentists in a row...is this normal?14 Nov 2005 19:31 GMT67
Is it normal for Dentists to be terse, rude, not shake your hand, not
tell you what they're doing, not explain what they've done, and not be
sensitive to the fact that they may be doing something that may hurt?
Both of these dentists have been in the industry for 30+ years.  Is

Dr. Tarnow in New york14 Nov 2005 14:06 GMT30
                                    10/25/05
I would like to document my experience at the dental office managed by
Dr. Dennis Tarnow, currently at 150 East 58th. St., NYC.  I went to Dr.
Tarnow for implant surgery because I was told that, as a researcher and
Allbond-2 - the best?14 Nov 2005 09:05 GMT7
I've been using Bond-One from Pentron for a few years with very little
trouble. I have had several porcelain veneers either crack in half
(vertically) or just come off. Sometimes the same veneer is debonding
multiple times. Needless to say, this is rather frustrating for me and
I need advice about replacing amalgam fillings13 Nov 2005 22:16 GMT3
I'm starting a procedure of replacing my old amalgam fillings. (8 of
them).
Which is the best filling material and bonding agent to use instead?
I have heard the composite fillings are toxic as well?
Cleaning at Dental Hygiene School13 Nov 2005 06:00 GMT9
Is it safe to have cleanings at a school (dental hygiene not dental
school). I remember reading something about them being too aggressive
and not yet being able to feel the difference between the tooth and
tartar.
Streptomycin changed the world's health13 Nov 2005 01:04 GMT40
Another thread was getting a bit lost in the confusion.  So I cut and
pasted its most recent reply and my comments into a new thread.

Moody Blues12 Nov 2005 22:58 GMT26
I exorcised a few deamons last night.  My wife and I
went to a Moody Blues concert in KC, we made it home,
and nothing bad happened <G>.  Hard to believe the last
time we saw them was over 11 years ago.
Pain hours after filling12 Nov 2005 02:32 GMT3
I had three fillings done, two teeth.  It's been about 4 hours and the
tooth is really bothering me.  It feels like a toothache, but since
I've never had this done before, I'm not sure if this is normal.  I'll
wait until Monday to see how bad it gets or better it gets, but I'm
I have a question about this community group?12 Nov 2005 02:07 GMT102
I am a college student. I was assigned a project for my English
class about community groups. I was to join a group that had to do with
my major or my future career. I am studying to be a pediatric dentist.
I was hoping this group would be a little bit more involved in ...

Just a little background...I work at a shipping dock in the northwest.
Alot of my work is helping unloading crates from big ships.  its a
rough job but pay and dental benefits are good.  I see the dentist at
