My wife had number 37 (lower molar) removed after it split. Some weeks later she bit down hard while eating and number 36 split as well. That also had to be extracted (yesterday) as it had become infected. So now she has two missing on the same side.

Is it possible to buy the hook-shaped scaler tool that dentists use to remove plaque for home use? I floss and brush regularly (electric brush with 2-min timer), but I still seem to get some plaque forming on the lower parts of my teeth.

My teeth seem very out of alignment and I notice it a lot in the last few days. My bottom fronts are more crooked than ever. In early summer my teeth and gums were bothering me, so I went and got my last two wisdom teeth removed as they were coming in on the right side.
