Porcelain veneer question24 Aug 2005 15:20 GMT19
Can any dentist\dental lab technician answer a question for me?
I had a porcelain veneer which broke, with part of the veneer still
attached on the back of the tooth (upper front tooth). The dentist
took another clay? impression so another veneer could be made.
autoclave gaskets23 Aug 2005 22:48 GMT12
Anyone have a good technique for removing old fossilized rubber door
gaskets?  The American Dental Accessories removal tool seems worthless
to me; I've destroyed a lab knife and cut up my fingers.  Is there some
magic gasket sauce?  Help!!

is recreational methamphetamine use detectable by dental exams?  And what
are the oral hygienic issues that accompany meth use?
Need help!  Is office gal telling us the truth or lying?23 Aug 2005 00:43 GMT19
Our ins. has "assigned" us to an unfamiliar dental office in a
not-so-great part of town.  The dentist my hubby saw is not the owner,
but apparently the sole dentist of the distant dentist-owner.  My husb.

What Can I Do? Advice Needed.21 Aug 2005 22:00 GMT5
Hello Everyone. I am a newby here and need some advice. I know
absolutely nothing about dentistry. What little I do know comes from
various Google searches.
I had 17 teeth extracted last Tuesday for new dentures. When the
No Insurance21 Aug 2005 10:27 GMT6
I don't have health insurance and although I am poor, I am not below the
poverty line, so getting assistance is difficult. I have 2 cavities right
now, one of which causes a lot of pain radiating all the way up to my ear
at times. I know I need to see a dentist, but about the ...
NTI opinions21 Aug 2005 03:14 GMT13
I just returned from talking to my dentist about the NTI. She was
pretty much opposed to it. Her objections were mainly:
1. Supraeruption. She felt that the teeth that do not touch would
eventually start to erupt. I told her about the web site and even
Best nightguard that *doesn't* involve trip to dentist21 Aug 2005 01:35 GMT11
A couple of weeks ago I went for my cleaning/exam and my new
dentist recommended that I get a night guard.  The tips of my lower
front teeth are a bit worn and some dentin is exposed and she thinks
it is because I'm doing some grinding at night.  Other than that, I
Curing lights recommendation?20 Aug 2005 16:56 GMT11
Grettings again, all.
Our yearly dental congress is coming up next week, and I'm going to try
to get a bargain on a curing light. (My locum dentist is going at the
end of the month, and the Optilux 501 is going with her). I wouldn't
Stuff About Dinosaurs I Never Knew .....20 Aug 2005 15:43 GMT51
I had no idea that dinosaurs were around five thousand years ago.
What is scary is that in a recent poll, 42% of Americans believe
the earth is less than 10,000 years old.
That's something else I never learned.
Laser vs. Handpiece20 Aug 2005 15:43 GMT5

Handpiece wins hands-down.  Much less expensive, too.

Dentist Drills- Where to get used parts for Kerr Electro Torque Drill?20 Aug 2005 14:50 GMT4
I bought a couple dentist drills from the garage sale.
The first one was a Foredom #7.  It's pretty cool because of all the
pulleys, belts  and arms.  All it needed was a belt which Foredom
still has available.
Tooth needs to be extracted20 Aug 2005 10:23 GMT9
This morning, the gold crown on tooth 19 fell off into my toast.
The dentist said that it cannot be saved. I had a root canal maybe
10-15 years ago. The remaining tooth material is at or below the gum
line. My mouth is otherwise in pretty good health for my age (61) and
One more crown falls out20 Aug 2005 02:54 GMT4
In the long on-going saga (see previous thread: Yet another crown
question) I've just lost another one. Actually it's still there, just
wedged in between adjacent teeth and pointing towards and rubbing
against my cheek. I suppose I could use a pair of Craftsman needle
