What are 'front teeth' for?14 Jul 2005 02:26 GMT12
Is there any functional value to front teeth?
They don't normally seem to be used to chew food.  In fact, a person
chewing with his or her front teeth looks strange.
So what are they for?
Infection from Wisdom Teeth Extraction14 Jul 2005 02:26 GMT16
Well, things were going well. Pain was subsiding, swelling was
virtually non-existent. Then I notice some tenderness and light
swelling on the outside of my gums where the impacted wisdom tooth was
drilled out. Being the inquisitive person that I am, I decide to start
What do you bleach with?13 Jul 2005 22:47 GMT1
I´d like to know what bleaching you use in your practices.  I
personally like the Opalessence 15% nite-guard because I can switch to

I´ve heard Laser bleaching causes a lot of sensitivity, would you
Effects of Lidocaine13 Jul 2005 21:54 GMT13
What are all the effects of a lidocain/epinephrine solution?
Other than causing site administered anesthesia I've read it can generate
vasodilation. Does this happen locally or is it wide spread? Does it do
anything else?

Subperiosteal implants13 Jul 2005 06:20 GMT7
I was just reading about Subperiosteal implants for my missing teeth
(18-21). It appears they are much less expensive than an Endosteal implant.
FYI, tooth #17 is missing and tooth #22 is the outside tooth of a cantilever
bridge.

tounge attaches as well as rests when not using? Not the boney bart closer
to the bottom teeth but back further where it feels soft and mushy?

REQ: Home Crown Repair?12 Jul 2005 16:48 GMT17
I have a crown that fell off of a root canal tooth.  I can't afford,
nor do I want to go through, having a permanent replacement cap put on
my tooth.  Due to complications, I would need surgery, and it would
break my bank.  I also do not want a bridge.  So, I keep having the
Question about dental assistants12 Jul 2005 16:48 GMT6
How exactly do dental practices select and hire assistants?
I ask because I was going to a place downtown for a while, and I noticed
something a bit odd going on there.  I had to go about seven times over a
five month period (a bunch of cavities and gum disease) and noticed that
Dental Career12 Jul 2005 16:21 GMT15

considering a career change to dentistry. I just turned 30 yrs old.
Obviously I want to make sure I'm not making a horrible mistake, and
prevent getting into the program and having serious doubts/regrets a
"Sinus Tract" on Lower Wisdom Tooth Extraction?12 Jul 2005 15:21 GMT1
As I mentioned in a different thread, my impacted lower wisdom tooth
developed an infection. While my OS was dictating to his assistant, he
mentioned "sinus tract" (or track, not sure which is correct). I
thought only upper wisdom teeth had the possibility to come in contact
