Are the Chinese ( god love them) making implants yet?16 Jul 2005 21:45 GMT47
Once you skip the propriatary aspects, how much can it actually cost to
make a titanium post/implant ? And how much do they cost western
dentists ? As for the procedure, isn't it simplicity itself ? So aren't
the prices present really a kind of cartel robbery ?
preferential bank rates16 Jul 2005 20:45 GMT2
I am posting this to find out if there is interest amongst dentists to
form a group to gain negotiating influence with a major bank by
consolidating loans and investments there.
Please send me mail if you are a dentist and would like to participate.

In the USA we have doctors who are called allergists. Here you see the

Case study15 Jul 2005 16:50 GMT34
Things are slow around SMD lately.  I found a binary NG that seems to be
free of porn and is lacking any discussion beyond occasional Spam.  If there
is interest, I could post some images of a recent case there and we could
some discussion about it here?

Modern sized toothbrush holders15 Jul 2005 15:11 GMT2
Attention shoppers!
With recent discussion about the 1950's toothbrush holders and the lack
of toothbrushes shaped to fit those pricey little bathroom accessories,
I did a little window shopping of my own today.  And guess what I found?
putting off getting a crown15 Jul 2005 13:57 GMT4
I've been putting off getting a crown on a molar. Although at each
checkup, my dentist says that the filling is weak and I should get a
crown.  I am probably under the false impression that if it doesn't
cause me pain I can wait. I don't look forward to the procedure or
eating after flossing15 Jul 2005 04:58 GMT41
I brush and floss every night but I always stay up late and want to
eat again later. What can I eat that is okay to be on my teeth
overnight? What about Cheerios and honey?
-Thanks
Dentists: What would you do?14 Jul 2005 21:09 GMT40
A patient asked to read his chart while his wife was in the chair getting
her teeth cleaned.  My dim-witted assistant handed it to him.
Under HIPAA, he's entitled to copies, but only after he's made a request in
writing.  She handed him the original and is reading it right now.
Do you allow caries below a restoration?14 Jul 2005 18:17 GMT9
I have allways had a question, maybe you could give me your opinion...
What would you do in the following case:
You are removing carious tissue  which does not appear
radiographically, beneath an amalgam which was broken.  However, the

Most of you probably already know this, but just in case; what did the guy
in the painting "American Gothic" do for a living?

Who still makes a good old fashioned toothbrush?14 Jul 2005 12:59 GMT2
I can't stand any of the new supposedly ergonomic, angled, gripped,
fancy bristled, oddly shaped manual toothbrushes.
Where can I find a simple, high quality toothbrush like the old
squarish Oral-B Indicator brushes that I used for years?  Anyone know
Using OrthoClear?14 Jul 2005 05:38 GMT6
Are any of you orthodontists or dentists using OrthoClear on patients
yet?  How has the process gone thus far?
Any patients here (knowingly) wearing OrthoClear aligners?
Looking for updates on actual use.
