Decay Below gumline30 Jul 2005 04:32 GMT3
Hello,
I visited a new dentist last month.  She did whole mouth digital x-rays.
Although I floss and brush every day, and have visited a dentist every 6
months for check-ups and cleanings for the past 20+ years, according to her,
Porcelain Over Titanium?29 Jul 2005 20:01 GMT20
I asked my dentist about porcelain crowns for front teeth and he said he

natural as plain porcelain, he said it does.
Also, I have to have crown recemented and he's going to put a titanium post
Canker Sores Cure29 Jul 2005 02:44 GMT1
FYI to canker sore sufferers.
I have always suffered from cankers sores.  I've tried all the typical
ointments and solutions.  Tried specialty toothpastes.  Nothing worked
to stop it or make the sores heal faster.  Basically the sores healed
Judging a book by its cover's colors29 Jul 2005 00:17 GMT2
The colors used for the cover of "that book", front and back, were not
chosen by accident or for any other insignificant reason.
The last three lines of text on the back cover, bold white text set
against a solid black background, may hold the key to judging a book by

Traumatized tooth28 Jul 2005 16:57 GMT4
Almost 3 years ago I fell and hit a front tooth. It chipped a little.
Furthermore, a bright light held behind the tooth reveals cracks.  It
discolored a bit.  It hurt significantly initially.  I had it examined
at that time and was advised I would probably need a root canal

Joelly ...28 Jul 2005 15:00 GMT2
I wanted to add my two pesos worth about Joelly ...
In my opinion ... he is far, far, far, far, far from the worst
offender posting disinformation on Usenet ...
For the most part, he uses his own name ... and that I respect.
reactive arthritis and dental work28 Jul 2005 02:27 GMT4
I am researching this for a friend who has had reactive arthritis for
the last 5 years. I am encouraging him to begin going to a dentist for
cleanings, etc, but I had a concern that this might cause a flareup of
the arthritis.
Loupes or no loupes?27 Jul 2005 15:47 GMT22
In a book by Mac Lee, I read a while back that one of the defining
characteristics (for consumers) of a good dentist is the use of loupes.
I'd forgotten all about it, until I came across the following thread on
