Questions about recent wisdom tooth extraction16 Oct 2004 02:26 GMT8
7 Days ago I had 3 wisdoom teeth removed, 1 on the top left, and 2 on
the bottom left.  I had an extra tooth on the bottom, they were under
the gums and growing into each other, I had constant problems with
them so they had to go.
??  Pre-surgical Medications15 Oct 2004 18:59 GMT31
During an implant seminar a few years back I recall the speaker mentioning
that they have been achieving better results by providing a certain
medication shortly before implant placement.
I forget the name or group of drug, but it basically described as working by
weird pain after filling15 Oct 2004 18:34 GMT6
Just wondering if this is normal, or something that will go away..  I
had a filling done on a tooth,  the tooth is second from the back on
the lower right of my mouth.  The side of the tooth had sort of
dissapeared (as in broken to bits over time due to decay i believe)
Cavity after tooth extraction15 Oct 2004 17:04 GMT5
I recently had a front tooth removed.  Two weeks later there is no pain or
bleeding but the cavity left behind seems to be very deep (about 3/8th inch?
1/2 inch?) and is showing no signs of getting any smaller. I'm not due to go
back to the dentist until November to have a bridge ...
practioner  substance abuse/impairment15 Oct 2004 14:52 GMT2
Just how prevalent is drug abuse/addiction within the professions that
have prescribing priviledges? Is it 14% as per the general population,
or does proximity to pharmaceuticals engender a higher ratio? How do
regulatory bodies respond to addiction/impairment of the practitioner,
HydroFloss vs WaterPik15 Oct 2004 13:34 GMT2
Today my dentist recommended that I take a look at the HydroFloss
irrigator.  Their brochure discusses magnetized vs unmagnetized
irrigators, sounds pretty hokey to me.  Is there really any difference
between the HydroFloss and an ordinary WaterPik?
Crown question15 Oct 2004 12:33 GMT32
Is part of the reason crown prices are so high that a crown is expected to last
several decades?
Thanks!

Homeopathy: healthy medicine
Homeopathy is one of the two most widely used forms of medicine in the world
today, because people are discovering the benefits of a system of medicine

Beating the dead horse - how to find a "good" dentist?14 Oct 2004 16:42 GMT25
I am looking for a dentist now around central NJ, and I want to raise
the issue of how one can screen for a "good" dentist. If I needed just
a cleaning, I would not be so concerned. However, I need some major
work done, so choosing carefully will go a long way.

Invisalign - How invisible is it?14 Oct 2004 01:40 GMT9
For those who have used Invisalign, how invisible is it?  Do people
you talk to everyday realize you have them in, or is it as invisible
as the website makes it seem?
Also, I've seen some prices on here in the $5000 range.  Is that
