Lately I've noticed that the bone above my upper teeth (I guess this is called the alveolus) is jutting out more than it seems like it should. I can actually see kind of a white ridge above the back teeth on both sides. I'm really worried about this even though it doesn't

I just got a new dentist and for the first time in my life my teeth were cleaned with an ultrasonic scaler in conjuction to hand implements. My old dentist never used an ultrasonic scaler, just hand picks. Is the ultrasonic scaler completely safe to be used every 6 months on my

I'm about to see a dentist about a cracked molar, and if possible, would like to avoid having root-canals done, as I know they can sometimes fail. If I descibe all the symptoms, perhaps I could have a few opinions on how bad things are likely to be?

I have very deep anxiety with dentistry... I still force myself to go, and when I have needed work, I have insisted on the use of nitrous oxide. My fear deals mainly with the needle. I won't let them give me local.... at all! Because of this, I suffered through an appointment ...

Just wanted to say thanks for your advice yesterday (re: temporary fillings and shooting pains). :-) I went back to the dentist today, and he refilled the back tooth, putting some sort of paste on the root area. Hopefully that should do the trick, if not then a different type ...
