Mandibular Local Anaesthesia Technics14 Aug 2004 13:23 GMT1
Found a very good web based treatise on the subject
of mandibular local anaesthesia.
Covers Traditional, Gow-Gates, and the Vazirani-Akinosi techics.
Quite well put together.
Update: Making a tough decision13 Aug 2004 20:15 GMT4
Thanks for your info to my recent query.  I found a good dentist who
considered it wise to remove the other 26-year old bridge and replace it
(and the bridge removed a month ago) with a partial denture.  The spaces are
left and right on top and the denture I'm wearing is temporary ...
Had the nitrous, my impressions13 Aug 2004 17:07 GMT6
I posted the other day asking for input on what to expect from nitrous oxide
sedation, since I had planned to use it for the first time to try to
overcome my dental phobia, which basically stems from an inability to get my
mouth completely numb, since I needed a root canal done on ...
Sinus Lifts/ Socket grafts13 Aug 2004 14:57 GMT5
I am scheduled to have my upper teeth extracted next month. At the
same time the
oral surgeon is going to do a sinus lift and socket grafts for 6
implants to
Wisdom Tooth Cavity13 Aug 2004 13:02 GMT1
I have been to the dentist who advised me that I should remove all
wisdom teeth and definitely remove the one with the cavity.  I don't
want to remove them but she said that the one with the cavity she
could not do because its impossible to reach back there.  Is this
question for anyone in the know12 Aug 2004 23:14 GMT1
Hi, I had a question pertaining to the quality of my teeth and gums.
For the last ten years I didn't give a damn about my teeth.  I was a
drunk and certain that I wouldn't live beyond my 35th year.
Now, at 28, I have cleaned my life up and am depressed over what I've
bridge came off12 Aug 2004 13:56 GMT1
I had a bridge fitted about 5 months ago and the dentist stuck it in with a
temporary cement.  Well, once I noticed the bridge coming loose on one side,
I couldn't stop pulling at it and it eventually came off.  The temporary
cement just dissolved away after cleaning with water and ...
implant/xrays12 Aug 2004 13:19 GMT1
From what I understand the dentist will do a Panoramic
x-ray prior to doing anything with an implant. Should they do other scans
(Cephalometric) before or during the procedure? I'.m afraid that they will
hit a nerve and cause permanent damage.
JD and intelligent discourse without insults..12 Aug 2004 13:17 GMT3
For the lurkers and relative newbies - it has been tried many times by
myself and others.  She chooses to ignore or simply cannot comprehend the
difference between an abstract and a complete article.  Also, she chooses or
simply cannot comprehend how to intelligently review an ...
Recurring infection, dead root, low budget12 Aug 2004 06:11 GMT14
Judging from what was said in the "Recurring Infection" thread it seems
like this crowned abscess tooth has a dead root and is either going to
need root canal, and a post or be extracted. At this time I can't afford
the root canal. Should I just have it extracted and get an implant ...
dry mouth at night12 Aug 2004 02:04 GMT1
I take mirtazepine, which gives me a very dry mouth - but only while
I'm asleep.
I brush my teeth with Colgate Gel-Kam fluoride gel before bed-time,
but is there anything more I can be doing?
OT: alta vista babelfish11 Aug 2004 16:17 GMT5
This is cool.  I translated the following from English to Spanish, to French
to German and back to English.---------
Jan Drew is a very nice person that does not understand what science is.
Carabelli is always a gentleman.
root canal failure... should a re-do be done???11 Aug 2004 14:23 GMT5
On 6/18 I had a root canal done on tooth #18 because the tooth was
diagnosed as being cracked. It first appeared that this root canal was
successful. And, subsequently my General Dentist did a core build-up
in preparation for the crown.
Is it normal for a wisdom tooth to be infected for months?11 Aug 2004 13:46 GMT4
About 5 months ago my lower, partially-erupted wisdom tooth was
painful and started producing vile pus. Anti-biotics stopped the pain
and pus for about a week. The pus then returned and has now been there
ever since.
one tooth becoming brittle at its very tip/edge10 Aug 2004 05:03 GMT1
I have a tooth which at the tip is becoming brittle; I have been
noticing, to my surprise, that it seems slightly more "jagged" (i.e.,
tiny areas of roughness and sharpness whereas other teeth are smooth
at that point), and to my shock, I realize that on this one tooth (and
