Book cover colors of smd-ers13 Jun 2004 10:56 GMT6
Congratulations and best wishes to Shirley on the completion of her
book!  (I was away when the post announcement was made but I'm caught up
now!)
Shirley's book (cover) is purple.  Purple, a regal color ... a color
"Sanding" small brown "cavities" ?12 Jun 2004 23:18 GMT5
My dentist told me that small brown spots in the crevices of the biting
surfaces of my premolars are tiny cavities (this is from a visual exam, not
an x-ray).  She says these can be treated by some sort of "sanding"
treatment that will not hurt.
StovePipeATglobetrotter is still dead12 Jun 2004 11:29 GMT24
The reason that my email is dead, as you can guess, is that even with
the TRASH caveat in the email, I'm being spammed like it's rain water.
The solution I've chosen is like Roy's and DrSteve's. No valid email in
the header and eventually I'll put a scrap email in my footer that ...
Should I get a gold crown?12 Jun 2004 03:54 GMT18
My dentist is recommending a gold crown for the last tooth on the
bottom, #18, and I know it will show but he's leaving the decision to
me. Any comments on whether I should go for the gold or settle for
porcelain fused to metal?
New Toothbrush - Gum Disease?11 Jun 2004 22:34 GMT1
I still have occasionally bleeding gums two months
after deep cleaning.  Saw this new toothbrush on the market.
It's made by Reach and supposedly is designed specifically for
people with gum disease.  It has these rubber things on the
Periodontitis11 Jun 2004 22:31 GMT2
I am in my late 30's and have receding gums.  I've always had a
problem with bleeding gums.  In January I saw a dentist for a
cleaning, x-rays, etc. and afterwards was told to come back in 3
months for a follow up.  During the follow up visit, the dentist
Toothbrush Abrasion11 Jun 2004 20:41 GMT10
Hello,
I am going to see a dentist near the end of this weekend, but I
thought I'd ask my question now for more immediate information. Maybe
six months ago I probably began brushing my lower (eye?) teeth too

Gold crowns require less tooth removal?11 Jun 2004 16:45 GMT13
My dentist suggested a gold crown because he said something about my bite
but then said the main reason was because less tooth structure is removed
for a gold crown than porcelain fused to gold. Is this true?
I have a tooth in front of the one getting a crown that has a very large
Do you have the Colgate Pump?11 Jun 2004 14:57 GMT5

Dental Dogma and Amalgams11 Jun 2004 11:12 GMT3
Why is there such a stubborn, dogmatic resistance to the abundance of
anecdotal and clinical evidence for the dangers of amalgams by the dental
profession? My dentist of 22+ years explains it like this: the vast majority
of dentists are narrowly trained technicians skilled in ...
Dentist and oral piercing stories11 Jun 2004 09:21 GMT32
I am a dentist and I write a column on dentistry for a local
newspaper.  I have a few anecdotes about people with oral piercings
and their interactions with dentists.
For example, the mother of one of my patients was forced to shop
