Not getting a shot cause more trauma?17 Jun 2004 17:16 GMT11
I just had a temporary crown put on and my dentist asked if I wanted a
shot. He knows from past experience that I have done without it and like
perhaps he appreciates the time saved :)
My question is if doing without a shot and enduring the pain causes more
Why do people have surgery on the TMJ in 2004?17 Jun 2004 11:53 GMT7
I read posts in various forums around the web and notice that there are

(anticipated) TMJ surgeries.
Would anyone care to share their stories concerning TMJ surgery as

My ortho says that I am done with my braces, but my upper and lower
teeth are at a crossbite. He refuses to do any more work because he's
not sure what else to do. He says he will get back to me but it has

Licensure16 Jun 2004 22:35 GMT33
Perhaps you've heard--a major change in licencing requirements is
starting to roll across the country.  From the June 7 issue of ADA News:
"As of 2007, all New York dental licensure applicants will be required
to complete a clinically based, ADA Commission of Dental

Surgery in lieu of braces?16 Jun 2004 01:58 GMT3
I've read that surgery can be done in lieu of braces.  If this is
true, what are the details?  Is it done all at once?  How successful
is it?  What are the drawbacks?  Can it be done on all types and
degrees of bites and crookedness?

Should I seek a dentist immediately?15 Jun 2004 17:44 GMT5
I know that it is not recommended to just post in a group in which you
have not first lurked, but I may have a serious problem. Several years
ago while eating a carrot I thought that I must have a small rock in
the carrot, but it turned out to be a small chunk of one of my molars.

My doctor noticed white rings on my tongue, he said it could be from overuse

Composite fillings14 Jun 2004 17:28 GMT53
I had a root canal done recently on a back molar and so far, it is a
complete success.  The tooth had a gold crown already in place so the
endodontist, after completing the root canal, put a permanent
composite filling on the crown to patch the hole.
