Probably a stupid question, but I've seen these rubber tip thingys on
the end of toothbrushes.  What are they for?  I know that they claim
to be for massaging the gums, but why do I want that?  Does it feel
good?

I went to a dentist about 4 weeks ago who checked my gums / measured pocket
depth. He said my gums were in ok shape. He was going to start working on my
teeth on the next visit. But then I got another opinion (estimate) for the
cosmetic work. Dentist #2 just looks at my gums ...

I had a Root Canal (RC) in Feb 03.
Started experiencing pain all the way thru and after the procedure...
Wasn't sure the procedure went well...So never got the crown done.
Right after the RC procedure, I changed my primary dentist.

albeit the bleeding has almost completely gone away.
Periodontist recommends flap surgery on all areas.
The question is when is flap surgery warranted?
