Five days ago I had my lower left rear molar extracted. This was somewhat problematic as it was dead so kept breaking up and had to be drilled apart in situ in order to remove it. It also had three roots which apparently didn't help matters.

I get cold sores maybe 1-2 a year. I have some valtrex my doctor prescribed me. I THINK he said to take it (500 mg) 2 pills, twice a day until it goes away. What dosages do you recommend to your patients?

Question 1: If I am experiencing discomfort from a recent filling, how many days should I wait before going back to the dentist and getting it seen to. I belive most discomfort should go away after 2 to 3 days - or can it take longer than this.
