[Note: Original subject line - I did not make it up]

Simvastatin and ....20 Mar 2006 10:10 GMT5
I've been taking 40mg of Simvastatin for years!  My urine is dark yellow.
If I stop taking it for a few days the urine returns to a normal colour.  Is
this an indication that the statin is doing harm please?

I am an intermittent afibber and wear dual-chamber pacemaker.
I had a Holter 24-hour EKG monitoring done last week. Reading the
holter report, I understand that during the last part of that
procedure I had an 8-hours afib episode.

It has been said here at this news group that if you want to know your true
blood pressure reading, then you should take it in the morning after you
emptied your bladder and before you take your medication. Why is that? When
I go to my doctor or cardiologist, they never asked me ...
Scared 49 Year Old (Female)19 Mar 2006 20:11 GMT9
I've searched Google for ways to calculate cholesterol ratios, and
either I'm calculating wrong or I'm misundestanding the ways to
calculate.  For that matter, I don't understand how a total cholesterol
level of 279 can be arrived at by adding HDL at 73 and LDL at 168.  My
Trauma - What do YOU Need?19 Mar 2006 06:53 GMT2
Medical professionals: let's say you come upon a trauma scene (e.g.,
gunshot, terrorism, major traffic collision), and you have nothing with
you.  If a bystander pulled a bag of medical supplies out of his trunk,
what are the things you'd want to see in that bag that would keep a ...

Niacin18 Mar 2006 00:05 GMT30
My doctor told me to try niacin as a possible chloresterol reducer.
I know that there are several formulations of niacin available and I asked
my doctor if it made a difference.
He said it made no difference just buy one and take 2 grams daily.
