My father - 74, 4 years after a 5-tuple bypass and between 10-25 years of a

Visited a (supposed to be) cardiologist last week - he wanted me to have
a stress test, but I declined and he lost interest in having me as a

aortic dissection05 Jul 2005 11:02 GMT1
I recently had surgery for an ascending aortic dissection. This was an
emergency surgery where I had to have the heart/lung machine hooked up
before the actual surgery. The doctor said the dissection could have
been 3 months old, but was held together from scar tissue from a heart

Got a phone call from the guy who works on my house requesting a ride to
the va hospital. He's kind of an outsider (out of the mainstream).  He
doesn't like hospitals   He complained of inability to breathe, spitting
blood and thick plhlegm"dry mouth"

my first stress test ever. What should I expect? Are there any
indicators of how good or bad I'm doing? Is the doctor usually present
or am I dealing with just the techs or nurses? By the way guys, I'm up
