What would cause a person to have a low pulse rate excluding exercise?

In 2002, my pulse averaged in the 70's. Now it averages 56-60. I do
just a little walking on the treadmill but always have.

Waist Circumference, BMI, and Cardiac Risk02 Mar 2005 10:56 GMT16
I had seen news reports similar to this before, but a recent study
apparently concludes that waist circumference is a better indicator of
cardiac risk than body mass index.  According to the report on Medscape,

I had an MI and 4 way bypass at age 55 in spite of excellent lipids.
I'm told the reason was probably my very high Lp(a) of 139. So I got it
down to 37 with 3 grams of niaspan.  But, after a few months, my
stomach started killing me.  I'm now off the niacin, popping Nexium and
Did I have a Stroke?01 Mar 2005 17:43 GMT6
Im 16 years old and after a vigorous excersise I sat down for about 10
minutes and when I stood up I felt like the right side of my body was

the left but harder to walk to the right. This lasted about 1 and a

Blood pressure reading question01 Mar 2005 16:28 GMT5
When I check my BP using a cuff and stethoscope, the first beats I hear, as
I'm bleeding the pressure down, usually last for 3 or 4 beats, then are
gone. I drop the pressure another 4 or 5 mmHg and I get a beat that lasts (I
usually wait to hear 10 beats).
Recently discovered hypertensive and Blood test results01 Mar 2005 13:36 GMT4
Over the past two weeks I've been on 25 mg of Atenelol and the pressure has
come down signifigantly (160/105 => 130/80).  I have been trying to avoid
salty foods and have been snacking on unsalted peanuts instead.  The blood
test results came back today and the only thing that ...
