Unique Experience ?30 Nov 2004 12:02 GMT3
I have sane doctors that are not trying to kill me with poisonous substances or
torture me with unspeakable procedures. In fact they seem to care about my
well-being !! And, without two or three of the medications I take, I would
probably not be here or be bed-ridden at the least.
Plavix (is my doctor a quack?)29 Nov 2004 18:10 GMT30
My cardiologist put me on a whole array of medications including
Plavix after an angioplasty and stint insertion.  They included blood
pressure meds, high cholesteral meds, asprin and Plavix.  I told him
after my first follow up that I didn't want to be on the medications

CRESTOR ????29 Nov 2004 14:21 GMT6
My cousin's doctor has put him on 10mg of Crestor. I am saying its not smart
to do that in light of the negative discussion going on about that statin.
Even the FDA has Crestor under scrutiny. Therefore, I wonder why the doctor
is pushing Crestor unless he's being influenced by the ...

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - New study findings suggest that the
cholesterol-lowering drugs know as "statins" do not appear to lower the
risk of dementia or Alzheimer's disease, except possibly in cases of
early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Speaking of fat...26 Nov 2004 12:57 GMT1
In two years, I haave dropped 55-60 pounds. Still my heart function has not
improved. I have a BMI of  31. Just how obese is that? I'm 6-5 and 266
pounds - about what I weighed in high school. Is it realistic to lose more.
And if I do, will I feel better?
Orthostatic HYPERtension26 Nov 2004 12:57 GMT1
Went to the neurologist, and now my diastolic skyrockets while standing up,
and my systolic goes up pretty significantly, too--well beyond normal
limits.  The doc says that it might be my small dose effexor (37.5 mg, doubt
it, have had this problem before effexor), or autonomic ...

have lost almost 30 pounds since last year.

Sounds heard via a stethoscope..25 Nov 2004 11:44 GMT3
I've just purchased an arm band type blood pressure meter which
relies on a stethoscope for taking readings.
With it the onset of sound made upon the initial rush of blood
is easy to hear and a reading of the systolic pressure is
Anybody here on Altace (ramipril) for hypertension?25 Nov 2004 03:35 GMT1
I started taking Altace about six weeks ago, at 5 mg. per day, and
last week went to 10 mg.  I'm having some problems at 10 mg that I
didn't have, or didn't notice, at 5 mg.  It makes me aggitated,
nervous, and a bit anxious, and seems to keep my stomach churning a
