Does anyone have any history with this new cholesterol lowering drug (a
combination of simivastin and ezetimibe)?  It was just approved in July of
this year and I am always apprehensive of newly approved meds.  My husband
was prescribed this med and they told him to start taking it ...

Can a person's RHR be, in any way, an indication of the existence or
non existence of CVD?
Re: Flecanide24 Sep 2004 20:47 GMT5
I was put on Tambocor after going through another Afib. I notice that I'm
having a problem with breathing. I take 50mg four times a day. I'm almost
sure it's the Tambocor that's causing the problem or the 2.5 coumadin I take
in the mornings. I'm fine in the morning, feel great, ...
resting heart rate & exercise23 Sep 2004 21:30 GMT5
I'm female, 42 reasonably fit and my resting (just sitting at the
computer) heart rate seems to run about 80-90bpm.  Is this normal??
Also, when I exercise my heart rate stays elevated (in the 90's)
around 1/2 to a hour afterwards.  Is this normal as well or am I

Treadmill results and questions..23 Sep 2004 18:57 GMT3
To make a long story short the 24 hour monitor this time according to
the doctor showed no irregularities except for a few extra beats that
he said were normal. Got on the treadmill, walked for about 1 minute
started to feel a little hard to catch my breath but after it sped up
Quiting statin drugs23 Sep 2004 03:47 GMT50
I've read here that some of you have stopped taking statin drugs
because of side effects.  I've been taking Zocor for 4 years now and
have noticed more and more mucscle problems over that time--weakness
and stiffness.  In the last year I've had problems with my neck being
Question for Dr. Chung or whomever (CoQ10 - Statins)23 Sep 2004 01:07 GMT40
It is clear from human and animal studies that Cholosterol and CoenzymeQ10
(Ubiquinone) share the same endogenous production pathway. It is also clear
that Statins suppress endogenous production of coenzymeQ10 along with obviously
suppressing cholesterol production. My question is, ...
Perfume and hypertension.22 Sep 2004 22:41 GMT1
From the Bring Health site. The reference to perfume puzzles me although I
sneeze when passing perfume counters in stores or sitting near a person
(male or female) who has been to liberal with the scent.

Alcohol and flush face.22 Sep 2004 22:21 GMT6
I have drank before but never excessively. I have been thinking of
drinking one glass of red wine/day for heart benefits. I have recently
had some SVT's and got checked out and it seems to be ok according to
stress test and ekg. Will go for an ultrasound too and maybe a

What does "protective" mean?22 Sep 2004 13:58 GMT1
I have had mild hypertension for years, which apparently has caused minor
loss of kidney function.  One of the prescribed meds I'm taking is
lisinopril because "it's protective of the kidneys".  What exactly does that
mean?
plavix and cardioprotection21 Sep 2004 23:36 GMT1
I have been taking 81mg ASA daily for 2 years, but a capsule endoscopy
has shown that it is causing 3 areas of small bowel ulceration..One
cardiologist suggets switching to Plavix...aside from the cost, what
are the thoughts with respect to Plavix as a cardio-protective agent
