I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience taking CoQ10 as treatment
used by a doctor or used in self-medication.
Thank you.

How long will you live after your heart attack?22 Jul 2004 15:33 GMT5
If you've had an MI (heart attack) you may want to know your
prognosis. This may help:

showed that an LA volume index beyond 32 "is an important risk factor
44 yo. male with muscle tissue constricting coronary artery (long post)22 Jul 2004 13:06 GMT2
A couple of months ago I went to the Doctors office (HMO) for chest
pain and shortness of breath.  My EKG looked normal, resting pulse was
high (100/bpm).  They did a bunch of tests and sent me home.  They
scheduled a treadmill test and a cardiologist appt.  Here are the
Dr. Chung re 2 lb diet22 Jul 2004 13:03 GMT26
I would like to try your 2 lb diet but I do not understand what kind of food
should constitute the 2-lb daily allowance. Are you saying that the 2-lbs
should consist only of foods and veggies plus some protein, or can  the
2-lbs consist of pizza and hamburgers?? Just saying "2-lbs" ...
tricuspid valve surgery22 Jul 2004 13:03 GMT2
My father is 81 (82 in Nov). He has a leaking Tricuspid valve thatis
causing fluid retention in the legs, and appears to be making his eyes
puffy first thing in the morning. He attends a heart clinic once a
fortnight where his drug cocktail is reviewed and adjusted as
Ultrasound Procedure22 Jul 2004 09:44 GMT1
I'm scheduled for an echocardiogram (not the stress-echo) next week.
As far as I understand they are going to apply a gel onto my heart, so
do I need to get shaved on that point? I read that on EKG/etc,  it is
usually done...
red wine22 Jul 2004 05:07 GMT42
A serious question:
I'd like to use red wine in cooking. Is the benefit related to the
relaxation effect the alcohol has on me, and my arteries, as well as
some chemical in the wine? Will I still get the heart health benefits

Pins & Needles in Feet & Legs20 Jul 2004 16:06 GMT6
I am suffering from pins and needle like feelings in my feet and lower legs
(and sometimes in my hands and arms too) but most predominant in my feet and
lower legs.
My doctor did a lower spine x-ray and says he thinks it is being caused from
17 fold risk increase20 Jul 2004 15:43 GMT3
Are you on your way to a heart attack?  How's the calcium buildup in
your arteries?
"In particular, he noted, the risk of a heart attack "was about
17-fold greater" when calcium progression was substantial -- more than
Niaspan and Tricor20 Jul 2004 11:12 GMT13
I'm 41 and my total cholesterol is 158, hdl 27, and triglycerides is
406.  My doctor put me on 500mg of Niaspan for 6 weeks and
surprisingly my triglycerides went up to 474.  I had fasted the night
before my test and I had not changed my diet, if anything I was eating
What might "prominent QRS voltage" mean on EKG report?20 Jul 2004 07:24 GMT2
What do you suppose "prominent QRS voltage" might imply in an EKG report? My
assumption would be that the QRS waves might deviate from the neutral line more
than would normally be expected, but I wondered what the "normal" deviation
would be, and what such a finding might signify.

Hello Listers,
A relative of mine was diagnosed with "premature ventricular

that can be used by the patient at home for self-test/monitor. Thank
hypertension and hypothyroidism19 Jul 2004 14:28 GMT1
I feel am in a vicious circle of  being underdosed, taking Atenolol
25mg) and not experiencing any benefits. Having done a bit more
research I have seen my doctor and told him about the effect of beta
blockers on the conversion of T4 to T3 as well as their effect on
