When melanoma spreads to the lymph nodes under the left arm, what is the
standard procedure -- "CLND" to take out ALL lymph nodes, or "TLND" to
take out affected lymph nodes.  Oncologist and surgeon do not agree,
waiting for a 2nd surgical opinion...

A relative of mine has been diagnosed with melanoma:  melanoma mal.,
nodular, Breslow 3,1 mm Clark  IV, pT3b (with ulceration).
She has undergone surgery where melanoma and some lymph nodes have
been removed.

My brother had a stage I melanoma removed from under his left armpit 8
months ago.  It was less than 1/2 mm thick, and came away "clean" with
negative sentinel lymph node biopsy.  "Cured"
Two weeks ago his underarm hurt, then within 12 hours he had a swollen
