CEA test false positive26 Mar 2006 02:24 GMT6
My wife was felling tired about 10 days ago.  She went to the Dr. and
he ordered blood work. One of the tests was a CEA test and the result
of that test was 7.4. About a week went by and the Dr. ordered a
colonoscopy and the test where they put the scope down the throat. Both

Mother reports that she's been for the simulator prior to starting
treatment despite her misgivings concerning back pain as a result of
laying flat on her back on the couch - and that it wasn't as bad as
she'd feared it would be.  Apparently her back was examined by a doctor

Hi.... Colin here ...
In April 2005 I had a third of my left upper lobe removed and they got clean
margins.  The tumor was approx. a half a centimeter.  About a month later I
had six weeks of daily radiation and six weeks of weekly chemo concurrently.
Bladder cancer25 Mar 2006 03:01 GMT4
Got the news last night that father-in-law has bladder cancer.
Details are very sketchy; we were told he had three tumors before
the biopsy, and that it's malignant afterward. He's a very spry

This is what Franzi's sister told me about one of her sons.  (Franzi's
nephew.)   I know nothing about this at all.  Is this what is called
throat cancer?   I understand he is getting Chemo, and because he
cannot eat because of the soreness, he is rapidly losing weight, and is

Hair Texture23 Mar 2006 00:11 GMT5
I have completed my last radiation treatment this month, (March) and my
hair is going very good.  I love the texture because it is soft and
smooth with loose curls, not as kinky as before.
Someone told me that it isn't going to last but change back to the way

No treatment.. best guesstimate of a survival time frame. I have seen
others ask this, but none given. Surely someone must have an idea, and
what would it hurt to say. Some would  REALLY like to just have an
idea, for no other reason than to have it OFF their mind.

I've just seen mother.  She's had her mask made and wotnotted and
everything's on track for treatment to start, but.  Big but.  (No, not
hers, that'd have two tees).
Mother has a longstanding problem with her spine and is unable to lay
metastasized?21 Mar 2006 20:12 GMT14
About three years ago a family member was diagnosed with colon cancer. It
was a case of early detection and it was removed. Now, 3 years later he has
colon cancer of the lung. This is "metastasized" I suppose. The cancer was
